Tonight was our church’s 36th annual Harvest Home Dinner. DH was the main entertainment – he was Gov. William Bradford and shared about the early days and the first celebrations of the Harvest in America. And, he did a very good job!

Since this is some of the same era as what we are studying for Social Studies this year with J2, I whispered to him “This guy came a few years after…” at which point he interrupted me to say “Mom, that’s Dad!” LOL I did my best not to laugh out loud!

We just had a Yreka moment!! J2 really resents schoolwork intruding in his playtime, legotime, whatever. So, I set the timer for 30 mins and we worked hard….then he got a 5-10 min break. He loved beating the timer on his geography worksheet – he finished 2 sec before the timer went off.

So, just as I do tasks I’d rather not to a timer (it’s a wonder how much you can clean in 15 mins!) – we are finding it helps with our seatwork time too! Hope this helps someone else!

Going to keep this short because we’ve been gone all day and there is TONS to do to catch up!

DH took the day off today and we went to SF to visit Brett & Christy at the hospital….and we ended up being blessed to bring them home to Woodland!! Tomorrow they will go all the way back to Redding! It’s so great to know that they are going home and not in a strange (but beautiful) town away from us all!

Continuing to pray for full recovery!

My picture may have stunk – but this picture of their whole family is just too precious! Here is my brother, Brett, his baby girl (6 mos) and his wife, Christy – when Brett was still in the Critical Care Unit.

Again, thank you all who have been praying – and please continue to pray for his recovery and the outcome of the damage and future surgeries!
