I don’t normally reply or post things like this – but I know the person who sent it to me and she knows the people originally:

I just received this email from Lindsey Bolline. Lindsey gave birth on December 1st to very small twin boys – Adam and Andrew. These boys are much in my prayers because of their many similarities to Zac when he was born. Andrew is in need of your prayers NOW. Please take a moment and pray for these precious babies and their family.

Please check out Perri’s blog for more information and the original email.

I.AM.SUCH.AN.IDIOT!!!!!

So, surely you read about how I picked up my sweater again and to start knitting and how I realized I need to frog about 8″ because I had misread the pattern! But I cheerfully frogged it and got back to where I was and now I’m on side #2 and I’m at the point where I’m to decrease 2 times for the next 7 rows. The same place I had messed up, but fixed now, on the other side panel. After attending yesterday’s lace class I know now that ssk will slant to the left and k2tog will slant to the right. And, I realize I want to ssk so that it will look nice. So I decrease the first row – yes, 2 times as the pattern instructs. And, it hits me. DECREASE! Not bind off! OH.MY.WORD!! I have a sinking feeling in my stomach as I turn off the podcast and reach for the other side panel. Despair! I.am.an.idiot. (sigh) I had BO 2x for 7 rows and then again at the neckline. (bigger sigh)

Part of me says “let it go – it’s your first sweater – you should have mistakes”. The other part of me – the part I’m going to listen to – is telling me “you will not be proud of this sweater – like you should be – if you do not fix this mistake.” And, yes…I hear my college psychology professor chanting “Don’t should on yourself!” 😉

I’m just sick about this! It’s definitely going in the time-out drawer until I can face it again. Back to charity hats! At least they like me!

I was reading my friend’s blog this am and this quiz there. She, like me, had read the birthorder book. When I read that book as a young woman it had explained so much to me why I was the way I am (and it was RIGHT on about me) and why my siblings were like they were. For just about everyone I know – they really do show the attributes of their birthfamily. Try the quiz and see if it fits you – but better yet – get the book and read it!

You Are Likely a First Born

At your darkest moments, you feel guilty.
At work and school, you do best when you’re researching.

When you love someone, you tend to agree with them often.

In friendship, you are considerate and compromising.

Your ideal careers are: business, research, counseling, promotion, and speaking.

You will leave your mark on the world with discoveries, new information, and teaching people to dream.

I found this on Nancy’s blog … if you do this too, let me know so I can see your answers!

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot chocolate… I’m afraid of Egg Nog lol

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Wraps them… but we don’t really do Santa… they are just special surprises. 🙂

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Colored – we tried white to symbolize the star – but it just didn’t feel right to us. We are back to the lights of our childhood!

4. Do you hang mistletoe? Yes, my boys live in fear of being caught under it

5. When do you put your decorations up? Generally the Saturday after Thanksgiving6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? darn! Because my absolute favorite is my mom’s Walnut Pie. Excluding dessert – then stuffing.

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child: One year we were visiting my G & G W. in Southern California. They went to elaborate measures to show that Santa had been in the house. He dropped his hat, ate our cookies, and left his footprint in the fireplace ashes. I was probably 4 or 5.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? Same Christmas. I found the boxes for our gifts “from Santa” and realized he would not bring the boxes. I tried not to let anyone know I knew though.

9. Do you open gifts on Christmas Eve? We open one gift – usually a new set of PJs.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? Color lights, wooden garlands painted red and green, crystal garland to reflect the light. And, then all our ornaments are special ones – gifts from others – it’s getting a bit crowded now.

11. Snow: Love it or Dread it? Love it!!! But only because (1) it does not snow here and (2) only if I can stay inside and be cozy!

12. Can you ice skate? Once – I’m not sure I have the ankles for it.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? When my Grandma D was still alive she gave all the granddaughters tea cups every year. I’ve got quite a collection now!

14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Being with my hubby and boys

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? My Mom’s Walnut Pie

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Doing the Advent ring for 4 Sundays before Christmas.

17. What tops your tree? A star

18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? Giving

19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? Mary’s Song

20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum? Yum!
