…you have to be prepared for the unexpected!

Today, an anonymous big brother was asked to watch the baby.  This obviously was interpreted as “put the baby on the ground, surround her with toys and walk away”.  :(  I heard crying and turned around to find her head and shoulders in her toy bucket!  No idea how she achieved that!

No photo – did you really think I’d stop and take her picture?!? lol  But here she is afterwards…she still loves that bucket! LOL

Earlier this week I was reading an article about brains. The article said when you fold your hands, whichever thumb is on top determines if you are right or left brained. I tried it with my family…

  • left over right – Grammy, Me, J1 and J3
  • right over left – J2 and Eric

Here is the link (pdf) if you want to try it yourself.  But our results didn’t really sit well with us so after our knitting group today (where I asked everyone to fold their hands! lol) I did a bit of research online and found a fun quiz – let me know what your results are!

You Are 70% Left Brained, 30% Right Brained

The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.

Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.

If you’re left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.

Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.

The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.

Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.

If you’re right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art.

Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports.

After considering and rejecting all the techy gift ideas for Mother’s Day, I finally told Eric what I wanted was a nice place to hang out in the backyard. He is always wanting me to come out with him in the evening but it is hard when there is no comfortable place to hang out. And, while our days are often over 100 in the summer, our evenings are cooler because of the Delta breeze…and the only way to enjoy those are outdoors!

Two summers ago I tried to garden…great exercise, but my allergies just make it intolerable! 🙁 So, Eric has gotten me two big pots for tomato plants, a strawberry pot (probably going to put flowers in it) and is doing lots of yard work (with the boys) to make it a nice place to hang out! And, today we went to Big Lots and found outside patio furniture:

I’m really happy about them! I can’t wait to try them out with my knitting or my laptop!! 🙂 Right now it’s too hot, but we are going out again in a couple of hours to set it all up! Maybe I’ll take my own pictures tomorrow!
