A Christmas Meme
Have you started your Christmas shopping?
No. But I have knit gifts for two people and done all of my Christmas baking (for 26 families!!). But shopping will have to wait a bit longer. 🙁
Tell me about one of your special traditions.
The only thing that sits out in my mind is the Christmas stockings that we hang on the mantle. There is one for each of us – including one for Joshua. Over the years the boys have written notes and drawn pictures and put them in Joshua’s stocking.
Are you a Black Friday Shopper?
NO WAY! (but I do admit to asking my Hubby to brave it once or twice – he’s a good man!)
When do you put up your Tree?
The weekend after Thanksgiving now that we are home.
Do you Travel at Christmas or Stay home?
We stay home. We are hosting Christmas for the Osborn Family side this year and I’m wondering if it will be a new tradition. I like being home!
What is your funniest Christmas memory?
The Christmas we spent in Long Beach, CA with my grandparents. They went to great lengths to perpetuate the Santa Story – he even dropped his hat on the way up the chimney and left his boot print in the ashes of the fireplace!! THAT was exciting!
What is your favorite Christmas Movie of All time?

Do you do your own Christmas Baking, what’s your favorite treat?
Not normally, but I really enjoyed it this year. With a few more good tools (ie a Kitchen Aide Mixer) I could really get into it! My favorites has to the persimmon bread – but I’m adding raisins next time!
Fake or Real Tree?
Fake. Just like Cheryl I worry about fires. Probably silly – but we bought our fake tree in Portland OR and it’s served us well.
What day (as a mom) does the actual panic set in to get it all done? The day after Thanksgiving I worry about Christmas.
Are you still wrapping presents on Christmas Eve?
Never.
What is your favorite family fun time at Christmas?
Singing Christmas songs around the fire.
What Christmas craft do you like the best?
I don’t do a Christmas craft really. But I am crocheting a new tree skirt this year. (I craft continually)
Christmas music. Yes or No, and if yes What is your favorite song?
Yes! And I love them all. But “Mary, did you know?” is probably my favorite!
When do you plan to finish all your shopping?
Well, we are waiting for Eric’s Christmas bonus – so not until after Dec 18th. Scary, but that’s how it goes this year.
