Even after discussions about how early they planned to get up – and clarification from us about what was acceptable – I was still the first one awake! LOL

We did our stockings and the children exchanged gifts.  Not to be braggy – but here is what I got:

  • 2 weeks of dusting by J1
  • 3 weeks of vacuuming by J2
  • 1 month of massages by J3
  • a timeshare*, watch and perfume from Eric

I definitely feel blessed!  After our traditional breakfast (sausages, rolls and tangerines/oranges) we are going to play with our new Wii games: Mario Kart Racing, Lego Star Wars and Speed Racer (for Eric lol).  Then it will be a quick clean-up as we prepare for Eric’s family to arrive.  Poor Aunt Susan and cousin Kaden are home sick so they won’t be able to join us!

*We’ve been blessed for the past few years to enjoy other people’s timeshares so when the opportunity to get our own was provided to us we jumped on the chance (thanks to Hub’s bonus!).  We are looking forward to many future vacations (with hot water, showers and nice beds! lol) in our future!!  Pretty cool Christmas present I’d say!!

Off to see if I can get a turn (I think this might be the story of my life now! LOL)

Today we prepared our home for tomorrow’s guests.  After all that work we invited the grandparents to join us for our Advent celebration and dinner.  Eric wrote a beautiful advent celebration with some of our favorite songs a few years ago.  It was a great time!  For dinner, we had split pea soup in bread bowls – yum!!

After dinner, the kids got to open gifts from Gma & Gpa Osborn – jeans and t shirts (they are getting old enough to appreciate clothes!) for the boys and boots and tights for Sissy.  And, Eric got a couple of pewter goblets that he has been admiring for awhile! 😀

Then after our computer (oops – make that “company” – it was late, I was tired) left we brought out the Wii!! They knew it was coming but we were all still really anticipating it!  We all created Miis and then Eric kicked my butt at bowling, the boys played baseball, boxed and now are playing golf! :)  Tomorrow they will get three more games but for now they are really enjoying these simpler games!  I’m so glad we made this investment! 🙂

Christmas day the Osborn’s are coming for dinner and then the day after Christmas we are traveling to my Sister’s house for our Christmas.  My cousin, Cindy and her daughter Amber are coming up to join us!  Looking forward to seeing them again!

Gotta go and see if I can get a turn! 🙂
