I’m feeling very discouraged….no, scratch that…I feel very overwhelmed.  I can’t get a a handle on my life right now and it’s too much for me!

I’m the kind of person who enjoys my lists.  They help me know where I am and where I’m going.  Yes, I like maps too – I remember my first Atlas.  I planned many possible lives with that big book.

Some of this is after 1 month with JGirl, I crave a return to a schedule.  But then Eric is still home on break – and as much as I’ll miss him and J3 once school starts again – I’m ready to return to a “normal” schedule again.

My list is overwhelming…

  • Write thank you notes
  • Plan lesson plans for remainder of our school year
  • Follow up on various therapists who have yet to return my call

And, everything is interrupted.  I’ve yet to really finish anything!  Darn, I hate whining…and I really hate it when it’s ME doing the whining!!  I’m sorry!

6 Thoughts on “Overwhelmed

Hang in there – this too will pass. Kevin keeps quoting this country song to me, and I really want to smack him, but it makes sense – “You’re gonna miss this!!!” You can also take a bit from flylady and just commit to 15 minutes a day. 15 minutes on thank you cards, 15 minutes on lesson plans, 15 minutes on phone calls. Even if that 15 minutes is after you brush your teeth on the way to bed. A couple days of 15 minutes, and you will be done. :o) Since Eric is home, can he do some thank you notes? OK, I probably just got in a bunch of trouble LOL :o), but seriously, he could write a couple or address the envelopes. I better get back to work – LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!! Hang in there – life will settle down before you know it and you are going to miss this time in your life…. so the song says LOL!
    Love, Beth

I’m overwhelmed, too. Life just won’t settle down for more than half a day at most…one crisis after another in this house…if you have a good way to cope, be sure to pass it on. In the meantime, I’ll be praying for you.

  4. Just give yourself some time to settle into a new routine… Because that’s what it’ll be… A new routine. I don’t know if you’ll get the old one back, because there is an extra body in your house. That always changes things.

And we all know that she is so worth it! 😀

All I can say is “Me. Too.” 🙂 Hang in there and let’s clink glasses soon. 😀

  6. Thanks Beth! :o)
Actually, I created several dozen cards for her to sign so she doesn’t HAVE to hand write every single card. That and some address stickers are my contribution. I did that after watching her try to write something and JGirl repeatedly grabbed her pen hand while she “tried” to write. So I created a French fold thank you card for her and gave her envelopes & return address stickers. Cool eh?
