This is the 3rd week of (Re)Memorizing Classics with DoNotDepart.com<\/a> and this week we are reviewing Psalm 23:4-6<\/p>\n

When I first learned these verses, I memorized it from the King James Version:<\/p>\n

4 Even though I walk
\nthrough the darkest valley,
\nI will fear no evil,
\nfor you are with me;
\nyour rod and your staff,
\nthey comfort me.<\/p>\n

5\u00c2\u00a0You prepare a table\u00c2\u00a0before me
\nin the presence of my enemies.
\nYou anoint my head with oil;
\nmy cup\u00c2\u00a0overflows.
\n6\u00c2\u00a0Surely your goodness and love\u00c2\u00a0will follow me
\nall the days of my life,
\nand I will dwell in the house of the\u00c2\u00a0Lord
\nforever.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

But this time, I am working on the Amplified Version – it’s so beautiful. \u00c2\u00a0And, fully defining some of these words, helps me stop and really hear it again instead of rattling it off quickly.<\/p>\n

4\u00c2\u00a0Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear\u00c2\u00a0or\u00c2\u00a0<\/i>dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.<\/p>\n

5\u00c2\u00a0You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with\u00c2\u00a0oil; my [brimming] cup runs over.<\/p>\n

6\u00c2\u00a0Surely\u00c2\u00a0or<\/i>\u00c2\u00a0only goodness, mercy,\u00c2\u00a0and<\/i>\u00c2\u00a0unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
