I have a horrible memory after losing Joshua. I don’t know if it’s the grief or the effects of my sleep apnea before diagnosis…but I can’t remember very much.

Fortunately, my hubby (and his family) are story tellers. So they keep reminding me of funny things my kids do. I was reading Amy’s blog today – one of her kids was too funny and it reminded me a of a funny story. Hope it makes you smile 🙂

When J1 was 4 and J2 was 2 – we were really trying to teach J1 that he had a choice – a good choice or a bad choice – and the choice would have consequences – a good consequence or a bad consequence. We were using simpler language of course! Well, J1 did something – no idea what – and Eric said “Well, J1, what will you choose? (no reply) “You need to choose.” (no reply) Now, getting frustated “Choose!” and little J2 pipes up “Choose nany!!” Nany=Candy! 😉 edited to add – no, candy was never a good consequence, it was just a favorite treat!

Another time – someone (I can’t remember who – my mom? my mil?) said to J1 “Didn’t you hear a little voice tell you that it wasn’t a good idea?” to which he replied “Yeah, J2….but then he did it too!” 😉

I wish I could remember more – maybe I’ll ask Eric to start blogging all our family stories so I don’t have to worry about losing my memories!

1)  Do you think it’s too soon to change my header?  Should I wait until she is really here?

2)  I’m not happy with the nickname “Princess” – mainly because it’s too long to type lol and I think she’s going to be spoiled enough without the title too!  So, I thought of some other options

  • Lil Miss
  • Jgirl
  • CJ
  • Missie

But to be honest, I’m not thrilled with any of them or I’d already be using it! LOL  So let me know if you like one of these or if you have another idea.

Got tagged by Perri – at least this is one I can do. I’m still trying to finish the other one! Onto the Rules:

Go back through your archives and post the links to your five favorite blog posts that you’ve written. But there is a catch:

Link 1 must be about family.
Link 2 must be about friends.
Link 3 must be about yourself.
Link 4 must be about something you love.
Link 5 can be anything you choose.

Post your five links and then tag five other people. At least TWO of the people you tag must be newer acquaintances so that you get to know each other better. Readers – don’t forget to read the archive posts and leave comments.

#1 Family Post – Well, this one is easy “The News” – yes, I just posted it yesterday but it is so, well, familylife changing! 🙂

#2 Friend Post – Because my journal is so personal I rarely write about my friends, unless they are fiber friends. And, we just started a daytime knit group!! 😀

#3 Myself Post Where I’m from

#4 Something I love Post – KNITTING!!! On this post we went on a yarn crawl and I got to introduce some of my knitting friends to Theresa 🙂 and show off my newest FO (finished object)

#5 Anything I want Post – Wow – just one?? As I looked through the archvies I saw sadness and joy and struggling and on and on and on. (how can you all stand it?!?) And, then I stumbled upon this quiet night – it was so quiet I still remember savoring it and remembering I needed to savor it. It started by being worn out and grumpy and ended with peaceful reflection and prayer. Quiet is something I crave and pretty rare around here!

Now, I tag three of my “old” friends: Theresa, Ruth and Julie J.
and two newer friends I’m hoping to get to know better: Angela and Julie
