I’ve been getting together in the evenings with some friends to knit for about 3 years. We used to meet at a local book store, but now we meet at the library. Today was our first DAY knit meeting. We met at my house and had a great turn out! Steph had a very rare day off and joined us. Trina (w A & E), Ruth & Margaret will hopefully be regulars. We were missing Robin – hopefully she’ll be able to join us in the future. If YOU live in the area, email me and I’ll be sure you know how to join us! 🙂

Here are some pics from our time together:

Here is a question for all you homeschool moms:

How do you handle breaks? Do you find they are something to be enjoyed or avoided?

I *so* enjoyed our break…but if what I’ve been dealing with the past two days is the price I will pay for any further break – then forget it! It does not balance! There’s been yelling, crying, eye-rolling, foot-stomping, patient explainations, impatient demands, threatening, complaining and stony silence. And, just in case someone thinks they’ll be cute – I only did SOME of those things! 😉

I’m joking around – but I’m also serious. I’ve got a figure out a way to make an improvement here.

It seems everywhere I turn I’m hearing about quilting! As in….

  • Trina (sadly blogless) told me about this First Saturday group at the Cloth Carousel in Winters.
  • Theresa continues to quilt!! Go Theresa!
  • J3 asks when I’m going to finish his quilt! The top has been done since Nov 2004!! That’s 3 years!! Poor guy!
  • Various other people are starting it or restarting! In fact, someone keeps coming to my blog via the search term “quilting again” – I hope they find what they are looking for!
  • And I want to start again too!

I’m pretty excited about this First Saturday group (sadly, no blog or website). I guess if you complete your monthly block you get the next pattern for no charge. I love the idea! Just the motivation I need to get back into it. (Trying not to think of all the things that might keep me from completing it. No need to dwell on the negative!)

Here’s some pictures of my first quilt:

Sadly, I don’t have one of the finished quilt top… but I think Theresa might. I’ll have to email her to see if she’ll send me a copy. Or I guess I could go find it and take a new picture. But that room is so cold!! LOL
