Can I count Annika’s projects as MINE?? LOL One week and she got her scarf done! She showed up here 20 mins before work and needed me to teach her how to bind off! Very cool!

Here are her blue nails 😉 and binding off:

And here is her finished work!

Here is what I’ve been up to for my Secret Sister – about half done:

And, here is the detail – I’m really thinking about not blocking this – I like it like this!  What do you think?

Last night at our Knit Night I admitted that the only thing keeping me from finishing my sweater was my lack of confidence in my sewing skills.  I was very frustrated because all the knitting books I had on hand said something on the lines of “…now you just seam it up and you’ve got a new sweater!” WHAT? Where are all the paragraphs explaining HOW you seam it up!?!?!

Cindy explained to me how to proceed and Ashley went right home and found a great video at Knittinghelp.com (do you know about Knittinghelp.com?  If not, you are missing out a great tool!!)  I love my knit group!

So – today – I’m am at the very least seaming up the sides and arms for my sweater.  Then I’ll pray and try to attach the arms…more lack of confidence on this one.  Baby Steps!  But at least I’ve got a support group to help me!  Where would I be without you all!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

…I Love About the Letter C

1. Christ! – without Christ I would not be able to handle the trials that life has thrown at me. ’nuff said!
2. Circular Needles – Without circs I would not be able to do the Magic Loop which has made sock knitting soooo enjoyable!
3. Carrots – raw or cooked – my Favorite vegetable. I remember pulling them out of the ground and eating them as a child…can’t remember washing them (ugh)…and they were still warm from the ground.
4. Children – well, mine at least! 😉
5. Crochet – not that I do it much anymore – but if I had never learned to crochet 17 years ago in Portland….I’m not sure I would have ever tried to knit.
6. Cake and Cookies – yummy! 😉 Carrot Cake is my favorite!
7. Chocolate – again, yummy! (I think I got the best letter for this meme! LOL)
8. Country – I like to drive through it – not sure I could live there though
9. Calendar – it’s a love/hate relationship – I’d be lost without it – but I hate when it tells me I have to leave my house again! 😉
10. Colors – Have you ever imagined a world without color – it would be a sad place!

Thanks Lorri!

If you would like to participate in this meme, leave me a comment, and I’ll assign you a letter!

Man…life is just passing me by! I feel I’m in slow motion and everyone else/everything is going at lightspeed! Sorry for not posting! I’ve had things I wanted to share…and now that I have a minute I’m blanking! lol

How about I just give you quick updates on what I’m up to!

Cardigan – Front sides, back and now sleeves are done. And, I’m afraid that my seaming skills are not up to par so I’ve put it in a drawer until I find something to tell me how to do it best. After seaming it up I’ve got the collar and two front bands to complete and it’s done!

Purple Socks – one is done through the heel/gusset and the other I’m just starting the gusset.

Something Lace – I have done about 18 inches (maybe less – I’m not good with measurements) of Knitty’s Branching Out scarf for my Secret Sister at church. I have not been able to knit anything for her because she knows I’m a knitter – and there are only a few of us. But the ‘reveal’ is coming up so I can now knit for her! 🙂

Tonight is Knit Night – Annika (my niece) is joining us for dinner and then we are going together. I’m looking forward to sharing it with her.

I’ve got a fun meme to do from Lorri at MacandCheeseChronicles – I’ll do that next and then it’s back to work for me!! Hope you are all having a good day! Oh! For those of you who are knitters and mothers – check out this group I just found: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/knittingmothers/

Ruth said in the comments:

Yeah! Don’t forget to “catch” her with MagicLoop, too.

Guess what? Already in the works! LOL She’d like to do a hat next and I explained the different options for knitting one and told her I was going to teach her the “easiest” way – ie Magic Loop! LOL Great minds think alike!

UPDATED TO ADD: Oh, and she wants to learn socks too – guess which way I’m going to teach her that? Can you say “Magic Loop”? I knew you could! 😉
