Last Wednesday I taught my niece how to cast on and knit – she’s a lefty so I taught her Continental like I knit. And, she’s addicted!!! Tee Hee!

Tonight she came to show me her progess on her way to work – I’m so proud!

Tuesday night she’s going to come to our Knit Night – can’t wait to share it with her!

This week has FLOWN by! Wow – Friday is looming and I feel like I’m still on Monday afternoon.

Sunday I made it to church. But when we got home DH was starting to feel lousy. So he slept for most of the day. I went grocery shopping. That was it! Boring day but productive compared to sick days!

For some reason I have no memory of Monday. It probably filled with a little work, homeschooling J2, a water class, lots of laundry, cleaning kitchen at least once, and maybe even some knitting! 😉

Tuesday – that was an adventurous day! After water class and homeschooling J2, I wanted to run to Sacramento to get a Sacramento library card…having talked to the local library and the Sac library reference desk about how I could access their digital books (MP3 downloads) I knew I needed my license so I snuck a quick peek to make sure it was in my purse. Yes, I was…but the address was wrong…and, worse yet, it had expired! In August!!!! Where were my renewal stickers! I had renewed it online or via mail….hadn’t I? I live very close to the DMV office so I drove over and – miracle!! – there was NO line! 5 minutes later I had my renewal in hand! Phew! Packed up J2 and headed to Sacramento. Where I was told I did NOT need a library card because I have a Woodland card. Back to Woodland – go to library and tell them. Librarian says “have you tried it?” “Uh no” Back home…try it….^&(*^(&* …she’s right – It does NOT work!  So now I need to go back to Sacramento – but with DH being sick I’ve been driving alot….and I keep having these stupid headaches because of the weather changing.

Wednesday – I taught my niece how to knit – she’s taking to it like a duck to water and we went to Target – new purse on clearance – gosh I love buying purses! LOL  Also, this week there was a cub scout parent meeting, my knitting night – always fun, and I’ve started on a lace scarf. I’ll try to post pictures tomorrow. For now maybe getting away from this monitor will help my head stop hurting!  TTFN

Well, the Red Scarf is done!! See below (and gallery later today) for picture. Also, look for a new gallery format later today – this one is NOT acceptable to me! 🙁

Turns out, I can knit like a crazy woman to Pride and Prejudice lol If you haven’t checked out Craftlit yet – and you find yourself like me, having to choose between reading and knitting – check it out! Even more important to me – Heather is a former high school literature teacher. So, she is helping me understand this story that I’ve tried numerous times to read on my own but abandoned due to…well, the language. My head just swims with it all!

Today – I’m downloading more P&P and going to work on my sweater. I’m better but very weary. I’m going to take my day of rest today with hopes I can make it to church tomorrow for the new pastors new sermon! Oh, and I guess I’m going to figure out a different gallery! 🙂

So, I’ve been sick. Again. Sigh.

And, of course, that means my hubby gets sick. And at least one of the kids (this time J3). And, since I live with all male-type people….no one does the dishes but me (hey, there are still dishes in the cupboard!) nor laundry (everyone obviously still has underwear too) and why pick up anything from the floor – isn’t it self-cleaning? No, that would be mom-cleaned too.

I complain…but having to get up once in a while to do something does let me know either (1) I’m getting better or (2) I need to go lay back down! 😉

But now it’s Friday night and I’ve got Season 1 and Season 2 of Lost to watch and things to finish knitting! If I just had a personal chef and housekeeper life would be perfect! Nice dream!

Oh! I almost forgot – my mom and MIL helped me create a little place all my own!

This is my new favorite place – lots of natural light and away from the television! 🙂

I cast this on 1/1/2007 and finished it 1/2/2007. I think it took me about 7 hours. I found the pattern for the jacket and booties here. I knit this on 10s (jacket) and 8s(booties) and used some leftover extremely soft acrylic I had in my stash.

Also, here’s an updated picture of my Red Scarf for the Red Scarf Project. I think I need to double check how long it is supposed to be! I’m knitting this on some yummy wool from Heirloom.  Found the pattern at Knitty!
I’ll add these to my gallery next!
