I’ve found a few more treasures to share:

  • Let’s Knit 2gether – a video podcast that I use bloglines to keep track of and I watch on their site as I do not have the ability to watch videos on my mp3 player.  Most recent episode was on felting – I definitely learned something new!
  • Sticks and Strings – a gentleman from Australia – love his accent!
  • Librivox – free public-domain audiobooks to listen while I knit.
  • Unwound – Only two episodes and I’ve only listened to about 15 mins of first one and I’m loving it!  Check it out!  But be warned – you are going want yarn from South West when you are done listening to it!

Hope you enjoy these new discoveries – I’m off to my water class! 🙂

Way to go! You know not to trust the MS Grammar Check and you know “no” from “know.” Now, go forth and spread the good word (or at least, the proper use of apostrophes).

What American accent do you have?

Your Result: The West

Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you’re a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta.

The local knit group I’m involved in has started a Charity Knitting program. We’ve chosen three local charities to knit and/or crochet for each year.  (For those of you who care, that means 4 mos to knit for each one).   The first one is the Yolo Wayfarer Center.

So, I’m going public – here’s my commitment.  I’m going to knit one hat/week until our first planned donation – which should translate into 5 hats.  It’s not going to change the world – but it might help someone!

So far I have knit one hat…4 to go!  Magic loop allows you to FLY – as soon as I get past the join – for some reason I keep twisting my joins!  grrr

I would appreciate some accountability — and always appreciate encouragement! 😉

Yesterday…

was a very productive day for me! I changed sheets – did tons of laundry – felted another purse (thus the laundry served a dual purpose) – finished a baby’s kimono that is currently being blocked – knit a drop-stitch scarf – and made 10 lbs of mashed potatoes for the dinner.

Today…

my darling hubby braved the crowds and secured some great deals on gifts for the boys. Now we are facing an open day. Will we go to the Sacramento Zoo or lay around and veg. LOL Guess what I want to do? I have more charity and Christmas knitting to complete. Can’t do that at the Zoo! 😉
