Today – the first Saturday of the month – is our quilting day.  I messed up my block of the month – sigh.  But hopefully Trina will be able to get more more fabric soon.  In the meantime I started a quilt for my living room….here is the beginning:

photo_030709_005Colors are not 100% as this was taken with my phone.  The next steps are to find fabric for borders and backing and finish it.  Since that will take awhile, I’m back to knitting.  Almost done with JGirl’s easter sweater and making good progress on Dad’s father day socks!

I love being back home.  I think of my blog as a local blog – but I probably will never blog about local politics.  That’s not why I blog.  However, I appreciate those who do.  Some of my favorite reads are:

Matt Rexroad – a Yolo County Supervisor who blogs about local news and people and occasionally throws in something cute about his kids!

Walt Lucas – aka Yolo Cowboy – writes the Roughstock Journal. from the Esparto area.  He has ties to the local republican party and blogs about regional and national news.  Occasionally he’ll throw in a bit about his church or his family life.

Marilyn writes Hello Happy Pitbulls – not exactly a political blog – but you’ll get more there than you will here! 😉

With those local political blogs I feel they’ve covered the topic – I don’t need to contribute.

However, trying to find out what’s going on here has always been a problem for me.  (That’s one reason I was pleased to be involved in starting the local YMCA’s webiste, a site for my boy’s boy scout troop and a site for our local homeschool group).  So, I was checking out our local wiki and it needs help!  And, now I’m trying to get up the nerve to edit our local wiki.  It is very new — and I know I could add some great stuff — I’ve always been great at digging up information, but I’m scared to actually start! LOL  Anyone ever participated in one before?  Any advice?

And, for you locals – anyone want to come help me??  Davis has a beat on this wiki thing! ;-)  Are we going to let that happen?!? ;-)  Note for non-locals;  there’s a pretty silly rivalry between Davis and Woodland.  I, in my peacemaker way, think it’s pretty silly!  Why not enjoy what both communities have to offer and just be thankful we can!

When you have boys…boys who are learning to read and reading out loud to you…you can really lose your whole house to the giggles when they read “My, but it is dirty“…and don’t remember to pause at the comma.

And, in case you don’t see the humor of “My butt it is dirty” then you don’t have any young boys around!

Lord give me strength!

LoL

Oh dear…they just told me the next part is

“Yes, it is”, said Grandfather. “It has not been used for a long, long time.  You can do something about that, can’t you?”

LOL
