I have a pretty bad memory after losing Joshua.  Whether it was the grief process or my undiagnosed sleep disorder, I just can’t remember big chunks of my life.  Often I’ll hear a story from a family member and realize I don’t have any memory of it!

But this…this I remember.  I’m so completely wiped out after last night – really only this morning from 4am on – that I can barely keep my eyes open.  It is a struggle to do anything.  Oh, yes, I remember this!  sigh

Eric and J3 are back to school after their May Fair break (3.5 weeks) and we are all struggling with getting back into the swing of things.

While preparing for the week, I reviewed J1’s work so far this year and realized we are waaaay behind.  We talked about how we might catch up and so far (1 day lol) it’s worked.

We started a study of Daniel with Woodrow Kroll’s “Back to the Bible”.  I read the passage out loud and then we listen to the MP3 of his show online.  It is really working nicely for the boys – they seem to be comprehending it well and I’m definitely enjoying it!  A great way to start our day.  And, definitely better than any ‘curriculum’ we’ve seen before.

Today JGirl has a doctor appt – but our Paed has changed buildings and I’m not entirely sure where to go – oh bother!  I don’t know whether to ask my mom to come hang out with the boys so they can continue with schoolwork or have them come with us – but then I won’t be able to concentrate.

What a boring post!  Sorry!  But at least you know I’m still alive.  Busy, but alive!

I heard this story the first time when we lived in Portland, Oregon.  Then, when we lived less than 20 miles from where it happened, I heard about it again.  I can just imagine how this happened…

Everyone is meeting one night trying to figure out what to do.  One jokester says “we could blow it up!” and everyone laughs.  But several hours later it is no longer funny – it seems the best way to take care of the problem.

Now, whenever someone says to me, “Let’s just brainstorm…there are no bad ideas.”  My mind says, “Oh yeah, that’s how you end up covered in whale blubber!”

Enjoy!!

found this on Julie’s blog…looked like fun!

What time do you usually wake up?

About 6:30 – I’m letting JGirl be my alarm clock – but if I can wake up even 10 mins before her I savor that time!

What’s the first thing you do?

Find out if Eric has made any coffee!

Breakfast?

I make sure the boys all eat – feed JGirl  -and then sort of remember me a bit later (9ish).  But I try to have something with protein in the morning – otherwise I’m hungry all day.

Do you go to work/school?

I’m at home, but I’m working and teaching the boys.  Sometimes I fantasize about getting dressed and going to an office.  But I don’t want to miss a single moment of my kids lives.

Do you like it?

Yes

If you stay at home, what do you do all day?

What don’t I do!  Work, homeschool, laundry, housecleaning, knitting, scrapbooking, cooking, etc.

When is lunch and what you eatin’?

Noonish – I usually don’t.

Dinner: When and what?

6ish – I try to make balanced meals.  I get in ruts very easily! When it’s hot out (like lately) I find it hard to put meals together.

What do you do to unwind?

Knit or read

What’s your favorite part of the day?

In the morning when everyone else is asleep.

Who’s your favorite person to interact with?

Eric and the kids

When is bedtime?

as soon as possible – an average night is 9pm, a late night is 11pm.  I like to read in bed for at least another hour.

Who’s bedtime with?

Just me – Eric comes to bed much later.  (what a silly question!)
