So, we are sick … again. But this time we have the added joy of throwing up.
I hate this.

I am so tired of this!!! Eric woke up in the middle of the night shivering. The rest of the night was him moaning and shaking. He’s sick – again.
My throat is feeling very strange – almost but not quite hurting. I. REFUSE. TO. BE. SICK. AGAIN!!!!
Please pray that he will get better quickly and that I will avoid any further illness! Please!
Help!!! Secret Pal – are you out there?
I’m done with the first part – using the Melody yarn. I still have 150 stitches on my needles and now I need to pick up 150 st of the Bamboo yarn…do I leave the Melody yarn on the needle as I do this? This seems very different than picking up stitches for socks. But maybe I’m missing something?
I’m slightly worried the answer is VERY simple and I’m going to be embarrassed when I hear the answer!
If anyone else has done this shawl and willing to help me – please don’t hesitate to comment! 🙂
1) I’m taking down those stupid graphical WIP bars in my sidebar. I can barely read them and I’ve got so much stuff on my sidebar, I need to clean house. So I’m going to try and keep a better record of what I’m working on and show pictures too!
2) Just finished: A ribbon dropstitch scarf for my sister. She wanted a poncho – I bought yarn for a poncho. But when she saw the yarn, she decided she would wear it more often as a scarf – ripit, ripit, ripit. But it’s done now!

3) On the Needles 1: My classic cardigan sweater. Depending on how I measure it…the back is either done or 1.5 inches from done. It is a wool/cotton blend yarn – very heavy. If I lay it out – I have 1.5 inches to go. If I hang it and measure it – it’s long enough. So, anyone know how to measure it?

4) On the Needles 2: The Lost Points Shawl from my SP7. I’m done with the insert done in Melody – boy, did that take some concentration! And just about to pick up the new yarn (Bamboo) that I’ll knit in the round. I’m a bit nervous – but it’s a great exercise for my brain cells! I’m loving the colors and the feel of this yarn! When I knit in public with this project – everyone notices and comments.

5) On the Needles 3: Two Socks on Two Circs. Well, in my desire to make sure these socks would fit me and my fat calves…I’m now knitting socks for DH. (sigh) But he is thrilled! lol

We had a great day at the beach as the following pictures will attest – and a gorgeous weather day to boot! Praise the Lord! However today has been so hard. I guess I’m learning that I can distract myself from the pain, but it waits for me. 🙁 As I’ve said before – grief sucks.
Anyway, here are the pictures of our day…
First we went to Bodega Head – no whales! But the tide was so low and there was so much to see that I forgot to take pictures while we were on the beach. Here is J2 after an hour on the beach – we are ready for lunch!

Here is my brother, Brett, enjoying the view

His wife, Christy and niece coming up the trail

We were hungry now – but we had trouble getting Grammy (my mom) off the beach lol just kidding – it was hard to leave!

And, here is my mom and my niece enjoying our picnic lunch

Then we drove a bit south to our favorite beach “Dillons Beach” which is just north of Tamales Bay

The south part of the beach is all dunes and sandy beach – but the north part is tidepools and great rocks to climb.
J3 enjoyed the sand and my brother and sil’s dog

Even Kaya loved her first experience with the sand

J2 was intent on finding sea stars, crabs or whatever he could in the tidepools

Luckily his uncle loves the ocean too and has lots of experience to share

Grammy loves tidepools too

Here are J2’s treasures – which include a dead sand crab and three crab claws (detached) which now stink so bad they are banished to the outdoors!

It was a truly beautiful day to just sit on a rock and watch the waves
