Welcome to Tuesday!   I invite you to give yourself a moment to reflect on what makes you smile! What do you enjoy? What are you excited about? What do you love? Who do you love? Write a post about it and then share it here to help others be encouraged to acknowledge the blessings around us! It is so important to keep looking for the good because there is so much bad out there – well, if you believe the news.

Here are the things which made me smile recently!

Kindergarten artwork.  I love it!  And, yes, I like love too! 😉

What else?  I am loving getting up earlier in the morning (only a bit really) and putting my quiet time first (that was a change).  If nothing else, it allows me to have a smile on my face when I greet my family in the morning.  I definitely want to be remembered as a mom who smiled!  If you would like some accountability in this area – check out the HelloMornings Challenge. They are registering now (until Friday, May 3) for their next session that will include a Bible study in the book of John.  (Check out this blog post for more info)

That’s it this week for me! I hope to have a few more folks join us – I SO love reading how others are blessed!

Remember – Don’t make this too hard. You can write a book about your blessings or just share a photo or a quick note about what made you smile this week. No rules! ok…one rule. Please link to the actual post and not just to your blog.

If you have ANY questions about any of this – please don’t hesitate to contact me!

Hope you smile today!!

Normally, I create my menu plan on Sunday, but I ended up with a headache which is still trying to get me down this morning. I can only assume allergies are contributing. 🙁  I hate this pain!  But I’m determined to not let it get me too far behind! So, here is this week’s plan:

  • Monday – Oven-fried Chicken
  • Tuesday – Hubs meeting – Spaghetti & Meatballs
  • Wednesday –  Breakfast for dinner
  • Thursday – Knit Night –  Taco Pasta Casserole
  • Friday – Rotisserie Chicken in Crockpot
  • Saturday – Chicken, Veggie & Rice soup with leftover chicken
  • Sunday –  Hamburgers on the Grill

Thanks to I’m An Organizing Junkie for hosting the Menu Plan Monday!

  1. Loving this new office/homeschool/laundry/game set up.  Taking my hutch out of the living room really makes that room seem larger.  I was a wee bit worried that I would be isolated out here, but I can see into the dining room and that is sort of the central spot in the house. Plus, the game room – I mean, really, did I think they boys wouldn’t be in here constantly! LOL  Looking forward to homeschooling in here too!
  2. Sissy was super excited yesterday because she wrote all her letters to 100! Woot! write100
  3. One of my co-workers sent me a Peppermint Lip Balm from her son’s business Bubba’s Beez.  It is SO nice! I was a bit worried that the peppermint might be too strong, but it’s not and I really like it! I will definitely be buying from them in the future!
  4. As you can probably tell from my blog, I am SO exited about the upcoming Bible study that HelloMornings is running over the summer.  It has been quite awhile since I was able to participate in a group Bible study.  I had been searching from something I could do from home and I’m excited that I found one!
  5. I’m trying something new – instead of getting up and working right away, I am getting up, getting my coffee and sitting down with my Study Bible and journal.  It is much nicer facing the day after I’ve had a good prayer time rather than just jumping right into work.  I feel more relaxed and in control all day!  Now my morning looks like this: dailyinput
Many years ago, I first heard the term intentional as relates to living our lives, parenting our kids.  It really resonated with me.  I don’t want to miss the short time we have together, I want to be intentional, purposeful.  I want to be sure and make the best use of the time we have together.  The past few years of chaos have led to the exact opposite of that.  I wasn’t intentional, I was just reacting.  I was never ahead of that giant ball of life.  I got ran over more than I’d like to admit and I was starting to feel and sound like victim.  I did not like it!
I decided that 2013 I would work to change that.  I figured out what was important to me and then I started to make some small changes (blogging more has been one of these changes).
This week, the biggest change I made was to join an online community of women called HelloMornings.  It is a 13-week challenge to maximize your mornings.  You can do it via twitter or facebook – I even think there are some instagram groups.  They are registering for the Summer session right now – it will run from May 6th through August 2nd – my birthday! 🙂  Registration will close on Friday, May 3rd – so take some time to think about whether this is what the Lord would have you do.
There is a free Bible Study for all participants - Meet Jesus, a walk through the book of John.  But I think I read on the site you don’t have to do that study if you are already in another study.  I am not, could not find one that fits my life, so I am REALLY looking forward to this part of the challenge.  Please note, perfection is not a requirement for this group (it’s just a trap).  Just a desire to start your day with God and a comment to check in with your group.
If you want to do this, but you don’t want to go alone, contact me, I’d love to encourage you!
