I know it’s early, but the thanks giving is starting already!

  • I was able to wake up at dark o’clock again – those days of sleeping in until 8am were nice, but it’s nice to be back to normal!
  • I was able to clean my kitchen again (how many people ate after I went to bed last night?)
  • I didn’t have the NASTY headache I went to sleep with!
  • I was able to walk Sissy to and from school – only used the inhaler once!
  • The house is quiet – just J2 and I today. So now I can print out my lesson plans for the week and get back to our normal routine.

Vacations are nice, even when you just stay at home, but I do love a good routine!

Oops – missed a day. But it was a great day! Was able to do shopping – both some clothing for one kiddo (who lost quite a bit of weight!!) and groceries.  Then set up my new pantry – WOOT – and cleaned off my kitchen counters a bit more (a goal for several months).  And, THEN we had Eric’s folks over for dinner, helped them a bit with their computer and I helped my MIL order photos so she could take them with her to show family in Texas!  It was a very good day!

Do you remember that J2 has some significant learning disabilities?  Well, they really affect his ability to read fluidly and therefore, reading for pleasure just hasn’t been something he’s done.  Until we started to use audiobooks for literature.

Recently, he has been listening to the Hunger Games Trilogy.  I wasn’t sure how much he was getting out of it, because to say he’s laconic, is just the tip of the iceberg! 😉  But when he finished the first book, I put the first movie in our Netflix queue.  After watching it,  he said something I never thought I’d hear him say,

It was a good movie, but the book was SO much better!

😀 What a blessing to hear!

Today I’m thankful for

  • our budget and that Eric and I work together to make sure we are good stewards of what we have.
  • the ability to pay off a bill.  It’s a small one, but thanks to the snowball affect, it will make a big difference!
  • my Kindle that allows me to read a book about marriage and the act of marriage (i’m not a prude, but I don’t want to be spammed) without my kids being able to tell I’m reading it! lol  ok, maybe I’m a bit of a prude. 😉
  • my Momma, who when I called over to see if I needed to come pick up Sissy said Oh I might keep her one more night. SWEET! 😉
