Just realized I never posted the pictures I took of JGirl’s first valentines gifts from Daddy.

It was a pink stone necklace that she loves and a card I plan to keep for her until she grows up.
My Hubs and I are planners. We like to know where we are headed…and talk about how we will get there. Some of our favorite times together have involved our calendars!
So, it’s really no surprise that we spent Valentines Day planning. We worked for several hours on J1’s high school. We looked at what our state requires of it’s graduates, considered what we wanted our son to know and came up with a general plan. Of course, life will change it – but without a plan, we will be lost.
It was a good day!
But then I started to think about J1 graduating…2013!! Wow. I started to wonder about J2’s graduation….and J3’s…and I grabbed my favorite planning tool – a spreadsheet – and start plotting it out.
J2 will graduate in 2015!!
J3 will graduate in 2019!!!!
and
JGirl….will graduate in 2025!!!! She will start Kindergarten in 2013 when J1 graduates. To make it worse, I figured out how old I will be in 2025!
Such a great day….and now it’s all gone so horribly wrong!
😉
I wasn’t feeling great yesterday afternoon when Eric said he’d invited his folks for dinner. But he said he would take care of everything and he did. And, we ended up having a pretty nice visit. We roasted hotdogs and marshmallows over the fire out back and then did a little Karaoke.
However, about 2am I lost my battle with this stomach thing and then JGirl woke up an hour later with a high fever. Poor Eric! So, now we are all home from church, he’s playing Nurse and Mr Mom and I’m laying in bed feeling gross and guilty.
Julie – Frogging is what you call when you pull out a knit pattern…cause you rippit, rippit, rippit. lol
1) Dinner was good – Hubs grilled hamburgers and hotdogs…made a salad and warmed up some beans. AND he cleaned up!! Woo Hoo!
2) I heard him tell me Dad today that he’s doing it each week – so now I’m anticipating next Friday!! 😉
3) I finished a cowl for myself but I’m not happy with it. It’s just too big. Going to finish my fingerless mitts and then I might frog it and start over. We’ll see.
4) Today I pulled all my knitting books out of my bedroom and switched them with Hub’s Theology books in the living room. Now when I’m knitting and have a question, I can find my resources!
5) I made a goal to scrapbook any Christmas pictures I had…since I had like two, I think one layout technically counts as meeting my goal. But overall that’s pretty pathetic. Still struggling to find time to scrapbook.
6) I did meet my goal to blog daily. It was fun, easier than I thought it would be and I’m not sure my content was affected. I say that because I realized I really don’t blog to impress anyone with what I think. I blog to release some of the emotions and thoughts that I just can’t express verbally. One thing I’d do differently, save up some posts for those days where it’s just too hard to stop and think!
Well, I need to use this naptime to get some stuff done for work, so I’d better get to it!
A week ago Eric asked how he could help – and I’m not sure if he was expecting it, but I gave him specifics! LOL
One thing I asked was if he could plan/make/clean up one dinner a week. Not only would this give me a break, but it would set a great example for our boys. I acknowledge that he often ends up doing a dinner from time-to-time, but I asked for it to be a designated night so that I could anticipate it. After a process of elimination we agreed that Friday nights would be the night.
And today is Friday!!! I’ve offered to go get ingredients for whatever he wants to make and I’ve asked that it be a complete meal – not just pizza or burgers – with veggies and everything! lol
I really hope he can pull this off! I’m REALLY looking forward to this!!
