First  – we all made it to church today!! It’s a miracle!!!

Second – Hubs told me about a lecture he got from his mom yesterday about his weight.  Yes, we are overweight but I have a job, 4 children, 3 whom I homeschool, one still in diapers, I volunteer, I am responsible. (are you laughing Trina??)  What I am NOT good at doing is finding time for me.

I was so determined NOT to get this lecture, that I took a radical step!  I made a call to be added to my Hubs workout account.  So, we will start going to exercise periodically….and totally do what my MIL wanted.  Oh darn.  😉

And, whatever you might think…this is NOT a resolution! I do not make resolutions…only for my knitting.

What a day!  I was up bright and early – and it was BRIGHT!!!  The Sun was out – it was GORGEOUS!!!  Picked up Trina and headed to Winters for our Quilt morning.  We were missing our 3rd Amigo – Ashley – but that just meant we could complain about our hubbies and kids without worrying that she was left out! ;-)  Seriously we missed you Ash and we can’t wait to start the new quilts next month!

After our return to normal mommyland – it was time for Christmas to be over.  J1 and I took down the outdoor decorations – but I did leave the interior porch lights – I think they light our porch nicely without being glaring, but I might get overrulled any day now.

Then, J1 and I started on the tree, but JGirl made that very difficult.  So we came into the kitchen and made bean soup and apple pie.  He was pretty handy on Grammy’s apple corer/peeler/slicer!

After Hubs and other boys returned it was short work to get the rest of Christmas packed and put away.  My living room is back to normal!! Hurray!  But now I see a 3’x5′ spot that is screaming for a hanging quilt.  Hmm…if only I had more time. 🙁

Again, my life is pretty boring right now…but that’s not a complaint – that’s a blessing! Hope your life is boring too! 😉

J1 is 14 today.  And, boy am I having a hard time with it.  But that’s life…they keep growing up.  I just keep hearing a voice that says “only 4 more years until he will move out”.  So sad.  At least until the next time he tries to prove his independence, then it will be “only 4 more years….” lol

Short post as I need to make his requested apple pies – something I’ve never done in a long time, if ever!

Today is the first day of January, 2009.  I’d say it was a new beginning…but it really isn’t.  My family is the same.  My home is the same.  My work is the same.  And. That. Is. How. I. Like. It!

Last night we were going to get together with friends – but Tis the Season you know – and they had to cancel due to illness.  So, when other friends called to invite us for ‘Brats at their church, we said “Yes!” and it was great.  Though we had to leave soon after 8pm as JGirl was too tired.  The minute we got home, she started waving bye-bye…her nightly tradition that means get-me-to-bed-asap!

I went to bed at 9pm.  The Hubs and boys light the fire and watched some tv – I think they made it to midnight.

Today we’ve laid around…I worked…did laundry…bought groceries…made dinner and now I’m loading Turbo Tax on my laptop.  Going to plug in some numbers and see what info we still need to pull together.

Yeah…boring.  But not-boring is Not-fun.  I am all about a boring 2009!  Here’s to hoping! 😉
