And, while Grandma & Grandpa were still with us, we went to Old Sacramento and got to ride a horse drawn wagon (Grandpa & JGirl waited behind):

As you can imagine, I’ve been singing a lot of lullabies lately. With the boys I usually sang hymns – Trust & Obey was a favorite. But JGirl seems to be a bit different. She seems to prefer these two.

Golden slumbers

By Thomas Dekker

Golden slumber kiss your eyes,
Smiles await you when you rise.
Sleep, pretty baby,
Do not cry,
And I will sing you a lullaby.

Care is heavy, therefore sleep,
While I o’er you watch do keep.
Sleep, pretty darling,
Do not cry,
And I will sing you a lullaby.

And, my favorite Muppet Lullaby – you didn’t know they had one??

Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขm Going To Go Back There Someday

This looks familiar, vaguely familiar,
Almost unreal, yet, it’s too soon to feel yet.
Close to my soul, and yet so far away.
I’m going to go back there someday.
Sun rises, night falls, sometimes the sky calls.
Is that a song there, and do I belong there?
I’ve never been there, but I know the way.
I’m going to go back there someday.
Come and go with me, it’s more fun to share,
We’ll both be completely at home in midair.
We’re flyin’, not walkin’, on featherless wings.
We can hold onto love like invisible strings.
There’s not a word yet for old friends who’ve just met.
Part heaven, part space, or have I found my place?
You can just visit, but I plan to stay.
I’m going to go back there someday.
I’m going to go back there someday.

So, what’s your favorite? Or better yet…what’s your children’s favorites?

An innocent question. Even something to fill the space when you meet someone new.

But it totally paralyzes me.

In an instant, I’m weighing how much I want to tell. I’m trying to judge if this is a sincere question or a time-filler? I’m wondering if this person will be part of our life and thus worthy of our ‘story’ or just an acquaintance who doesn’t really care.

So, sometimes I simply say “one girl and 3 boys” and sometimes I say “5 children, but we lost one.” Which of course makes the acquaintance’s eyes bug out as they try to figure out how to get away! LOL

This week JGirl got to meeting Grandpa Bruce & Grandma Connie!

First time Grandma Connie met J1 she gave him a Tootsie Pop – this time JGirl thought the Margarita would be fun! LOL

Sorry Grandma – it was just too cute to pass up!

Also, Grandma gave JGirl a pink teddy bear ๐Ÿ˜€ and her blanket. Grandma has made blankets for each of the kids – I’ve got them in storage for their kids – heirloom stuff! ๐Ÿ™‚
