This was how my MIL greeted her open WORKING refrigerator after 27 hours of no power! I laughed but when I got home I turned on and off lights and ran my garbage disposal – just because I could!! 😀

We are heating up our house again with a slight concern that the next storm that is expected any minute might undo the work that PG&E did.

We are all well and safe. My sister’s family has no power still – and for them that means no running water too. So, please be praying for them.

We plan to still have J1’s squire birthday party in a matter of hours, but at least I don’t have to prepare the food by candlelight!! PTL!

Off to post yesterday’s video since I wasn’t able to get online!

Also known as “we are babysitting”! But since it’s so fun – it feels more like company! 🙂

My friend (and part of my Knitting Group), Trina, is allowing us to watch her children this morning! So far, we’ve danced to Veggie Tales, let the boys practice holding a baby, played trucks and trains, Eric tickled 2 yr old A, and put baby to sleep!  J1 grudgingly allowed me to lay Miss E down with him – I think he was scared – and they sure make a nice picture!

And, A played with J3’s trains…well, this time he abandoned the track and was taking the scenic route through the kitchen.

Trina really knows how to spoil her babysitters too!  Not only did she make homemade mac & cheese (J2 was estatic!) for lunch but she bought the boys a 5 pack of mac & cheese and a bag of tangerines for me!!! 🙂

Sadly, after lunch, our little friends had to go home to nap.  And, now the rain has started.  I guess this is supposed to be quite a series of storms.  My sister and her family are probably going to get lots of snow!  Hope they will still be able to come down for J1’s big party on Saturday – but only if it’s safe!

I woke up wondering “2008. What will that bring?

  • A new family member?
  • A permanent home?
  • 21st anniversary
  • A 8 yr old
  • A 12 yr old
  • A 13 yr old (tomorrow!!)

I tell you – just those ‘possibilities’ can make a woman a bit fearful. I can only cling to the Hope I have and put one foot in front of the other.

Before I got out of bed I decided a few things will change this year…

  • I want to find a way to save our memories – and not just on this blog. Not sure if that means scrapbooking. More likely it will be digital scrapbook. Julie – look for me to be contacting you real soon about what that means! 🙂
  • I’m going to start FLYing again. After my pregnancy, moving to California and losing Joshua – I got out of the habit of my schedules. I miss knowing that I can welcome unexpected company joyfully. I miss waking up to a clean sink and a plan for the day! So, I’ll be making some babysteps very soon. I’ll plan to be accountable here.

That’s really it so far. These are really big things in the ‘big picture’ while allowing me to be flexible for what “might be”.

Blessing to you all, my friends.
