Will you all read a post without pictures?  It’s just TOO hot and my head is hurting too much to go outside and take pictures right now. If I remember I’ll take a few tomorrow morning before church while it’s cool.

Instant Gratification….

Tuesday night at Knit Night one of the gals brought in 3 bags of yarn!  Ribbons and novelty yarn – but also some nice wool.  I took a bit of wool for gloves or hats but also some Berroco Quest Color yarn.  I knit up a quick Dropped Stitch scarf for my secret pal at church.  I hope she’ll enjoy it.  I love those super quick projects…don’t you?!?

September Socks….

I cast on and finished the initial ribbing for some socks for J2.  I think I’m going to do the Baby cable rib pattern out of Charlene Schurch’s Sensational Knitted Socks.  I’m using some Regia Cotton Plus that I got from Ruth awhile back.  J2 is pretty sensitive about textures, so I hope he’ll like it.

Also on the needles…

  • Boxers – I’m about 95% done with the first side.  I’m also about 1/2 through the red yarn..hope I make it!!
  • Beth’s Fetching…I’m about 1/3 done with the 2nd one.  Once I finish it her birthday present is done!
  • I want to make about 20 miniature Christmas stocking ornaments for Christmas – but I’m having trouble getting started.
  • Big Shrug.  Almost time to take it out of storage and finish it!

That is what my knitting is to me right now. Just a big sigh. Can I whine? Why thank you! 😉

  • The Mystery Stole #3 aka my “What am I thinking?!” Stole. It’s hard! I have to really concentrate – which is not always possible with 3 boys and hubby around. I can’t knit on it with anyone around because I might mess up if I don’t totally concentrate. However, I’m enjoying it. It’s definitely a challenge. And, even though I am still working on Clue #1 and others are working on (and might even be done with) Clue #4, I’m still enjoying it. I just wish I had more time to work on it.
  • My boxers – ok – I understand. The only other person knitting this pattern at Ravelry put it away saying “miles and miles of stockinette on size 3’s puts me to sleep……” Now, I get it. However, (me and my silver linings! LOL) it is perfect for Knit Night!
  • My Big Shrug….too hot to work on it.
  • Diagonal Lace Scarf…working it on straights. I H.A.T.E. straight needles!! I need to order some more circs so I can transfer this project.

I would feel better if I could finish something!! Maybe I need to do a quick dishcloth!

Well, I joined a KAL…another one! The Sock A Month 4 KAL is TOTALLY no pressure – just fun! Each month – August-December – you knit a sock! Or not, if you don’t have time. But if you do you can qualify for prizes! So, I’m planning to get some Christmas knitting done – socks, of course – and have fun too! I added a button to the right sidebar if you want to check it out!

Speaking of KALs – Clue #4 is out for MS#3 – and I’m still at 0%. (sigh) I want to knit lace…but maybe my life is just too crazy for it right now. Ruth is coming over today for a little blog help and knitting – so I’m planning to restart it if possible. She also knows about lifelines so maybe she can help me understand how to use them better! I HAVE done lace – but not lace weight yarn! I want to conquer this!!!

The Boxers are coming along VERY nicely! Ashley from my Knitting Group retyped it for us and it’s much easier to read!! Thanks again Ashley!!!

And lastly! I finished the Garterlac Dishcloth!! What fun it was!! Here are some pictures:

I love the pattern and plan to make more!!
