Today – the first Saturday of the month – is our quilting day.  I messed up my block of the month – sigh.  But hopefully Trina will be able to get more more fabric soon.  In the meantime I started a quilt for my living room….here is the beginning:

photo_030709_005Colors are not 100% as this was taken with my phone.  The next steps are to find fabric for borders and backing and finish it.  Since that will take awhile, I’m back to knitting.  Almost done with JGirl’s easter sweater and making good progress on Dad’s father day socks!

Ruth gifted me with some yummy pink yarn for Christmas. I started a hat for me..but it was too small.  So I tried to shorten it for JGirl…but it’s a bit big.  But it’s adorable!  I’m not sure if I’ll try to make a hat for me with leftovers or buy the additional yarn from Ruth and make a sweater for JGirl…it’s really nice yarn!

Sorry I’ve been a bad blogger.  However, I’ve been an excellent knitter! ;-)  I made serious headway on my side to side cardigan – the body is done.  I had the shoulders seemed but then took them out because I wasn’t happy with them.  Then it’s the sleeves and neck egdge…..and 5 buttons and it’s done! 😀

Then I need to dive right into a Christmas stocking for JGirl.  I spent the better part of one day last weekend starting and stopping.  I have nothing to show for it but a bunch of frustation!  I think I’m going to abandon what I was trying to do (use my Grandmother’s pattern from 1940-50) and just do one like I’ve been doing the past 3-4 years.

I’m still mourning the yarn/projects that the moths ate.  I want to make Jayne hats for my brother’s family, but I have to buy all new yarn.  Boo

I started some knit hats for the boys for a purse project (something I can keep in my purse and work on as I have time).  It’s finally getting into the 70s this week — woo hoo! 😉

Anyway, sorry for the lack of posts – but I’ll reward you all with pictures of my projects real soon!
