Life has been very much “yes, wait, no, wait, maybe, wait, wait, wait, wait” which has been making me, well, crazy.  When I got through the first mind-numbing weeks, I started knitting again.  🙂

And, I finished my Big Shrug (sorry non-ravelers for linking where you can’t go – soon I hope!)  I’m just finishing some socks for J1. And, I’m determined to finish my boxers!  So, I’ll restart them as soon as I get J1’s socks ready.

I hope to take pictures tomorrow of my Big Shrug, socks in progress, and boxers back on the needles.  Let’s hope I get some sun tomorrow so I can! 🙂

Happy Knitting all!

First, thank you all for your comments and emails! We are not giving up hope.  But we are frustrated. The next step for us will be to learn when the court date is set and pray. Otherwise we are as prepared as we can be. So, there probably won’t be any news for awhile…but please don’t forget to pray for us. Waiting can be the hardest part! And, of course, this is brining all my loss issues up and I am dealing with those the only way I know how – prayer.

Second, look what showed up on my doorstep this morning! Two of my favorite things – yarn and chocolate!! 😀

And, it was delivered by my knitting friend T and her adorable son A! Do you remember I asked for you to pray for her? She is due any day and had shingles? Well, she reported the shingles are gone! YEAH!! I think she will be at Knit Night tonight – as it may very well be her last one for awhile – so I’m going to try to be there too! (Boy Scouts is wrecking havoc on MY plans!)

What would I do without you all?! I hope I never find out!

This weekend I caught my coworkers up on our situation and I shared the following:

So, hopefully I’ll have more answers later next week.
One thing that struck me as funny. I had set up our crib and stashed the car seat we’ve been loaned underneath it. I felt sort of presumptive – but I wanted to show that we had room. I knew it made sense, but I felt a bit silly having an empty crib in our house. She walked in our room. Looked at it. I was sure she was going to make a crack about ‘jumping the gun’ or something. She just looks at me and says – you have sheets, right? LOL I laughed out loud. I’d resisted the urge to buy sheets TWICE this week – not wanting to get ahead of myself!
Amy, who’s buying sheets today – PINK ones!!!! 😉

Saturday, Ruth, J3 and I hit Wal-mart (and a few other places lol) where I bought crib sheets! Sadly – no pink ones. I’ve measured and measured this crib mattress. I bought the sheets that say RIGHT ON THE PACKAGING that it is the right size. But they lied!! So, today I have to take sheets back to Wal-Mart.

And, then Sunday my sister-in-laws (Eric’s younger sister, Sue, and my brother’s wife, Christy) came to Target with me — who doesn’t want to go to Target?!?! 😉 and I found sheets just a bit bigger – but still listed as the correct size for my crib’s dimensions and PINK!! – but they are still too small! 🙁 So, I’m returning sheets to Target today too.

At this point, I’d buy a WHOLE new crib if I thought

  1. I could fit it in our room and
  2. I could find sheets for it!

I’m afraid to buy sheets online – imagine the chaos in returning them?!?! So, I’m going to try the local Penny’s and the semilocal Toys R Us (as soon as I can figure out where one is!?!). And, I’m going to quit getting so tired that the fact that I don’t have sheets is making me cry! If anyone is local and thinks of another place for me to look – please let me know!

PS Wednesday the Oregon caseworker meets with the D.A. and by Friday the California caseworker should have her report done! I think that means by late this week or next we’ll have more information on what will happen next!!

PPS I’m doing cloth diapers this time. If anyone has suggestions for knitted soaker/wrap patterns and yarn suggestions (affordable is a consideration) – please let me know! I want to get busy on some!

Thanks for letting me vent! 😉

With the closing of our local yarn store, there are some great deals to be had. The day we heard about the store closing – I unexpectedly found myself there and pick up some Tofutsies:

And then Ruth went there on a day I could not go – and she found Cotton Fleece in “Wisteria”

and Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock yarn in “Argyle” and “Mixed Berries”

and then I cast on this pinwheel blanket – Lord willing I’ll be able to wrap up “Princess” in it before Christmas!

I was knitting some hand warmers for my stepmom’s birthday. But when my boys saw them they LOVED them! So, now I’m going to need to knit another pair for J1 (J2 claimed these) and one for my stepmom….or maybe something else.

Also, I finished the back of the baby dress for Baby Suarez:

It was hard to photograph because of rolling – but when I seam it up – it should look very nice! Baby is due mid-Dec – I’d better get busy!
