I can’t believe it’s been a week since I updated this blog! Well, I guess I can – I only shoot for weekly updates anyway. And, I installed a new spam catcher for the comments – so I no longer need to log in daily to delete 25 spam comments! Yeah!!

So what was new this week?

  • We decided not to proceed with home ownership – not even sure if I talked about that here – due to the high costs. Maybe in a few years – if we can save more money – we will consider it again. But the day we decided to stay put – our landlords told us they were not going to raise our rent as earlier expected until next Winter! That was a nice surprise.
  • J1 seems to be doing very well at camp. I have not heard from him – but have gotten reports twice from another mom who’s hubby is there. It’s nice to hear good things about your children – especially when you are not there. Can’t wait to see him today and hear his version of camp. Probably “It was good and bad.” Which is his reply to everything lately! LOL
  • J3’s tooth is still wiggling! No plans for extraction yet!
  • J2 had this week off – no seatwork for school – which is a break for me too. But Monday we’ll start up again. It was just the break I needed.
  • There has been knitting this week – in fact quite a bit of it since I was not feeling well earlier in the week. Knit on the Boxers, the Lace Diagonal Scarf and joined a new KAL that starts in August. Check out my knit blog “Knitnmom” for more info!

There’s also been work this week…helping my mom paint her living room….visits from my brother….and a trip to Lake Tahoe! So, it’s been busy – maybe that’s why I didn’t post! LOL

Well, I joined a KAL…another one! The Sock A Month 4 KAL is TOTALLY no pressure – just fun! Each month – August-December – you knit a sock! Or not, if you don’t have time. But if you do you can qualify for prizes! So, I’m planning to get some Christmas knitting done – socks, of course – and have fun too! I added a button to the right sidebar if you want to check it out!

Speaking of KALs – Clue #4 is out for MS#3 – and I’m still at 0%. (sigh) I want to knit lace…but maybe my life is just too crazy for it right now. Ruth is coming over today for a little blog help and knitting – so I’m planning to restart it if possible. She also knows about lifelines so maybe she can help me understand how to use them better! I HAVE done lace – but not lace weight yarn! I want to conquer this!!!

The Boxers are coming along VERY nicely! Ashley from my Knitting Group retyped it for us and it’s much easier to read!! Thanks again Ashley!!!

And lastly! I finished the Garterlac Dishcloth!! What fun it was!! Here are some pictures:

I love the pattern and plan to make more!!

Finally got a few pictures!

My Boxer Shorts. This is what I knit from 1 skein of Knit Picks Shine Sport. Yummy yarn – will definitely use it again for future projects!

My sister’s scarf. Remember it was going to be socks. Definitely one of those “the yarn tells you what it wants to be” projects! Much happier with this! Hope she likes it too!

Today I got up early and was looking forward to a profitable knitting day. However, it’s truly been anything but profitable!! 🙁

I had to frog the MS#3 – I made a mistake and had not yet added a lifeline. (sigh)

I had to frog my sister’s socks. The yarn does NOT want to be socks.

I ran into a problem with the boxers and need to find an answer before I go any further in case I’m making a mistake.

With those three problems, I didn’t even look at the garterlac dishcloth! It’s challenging on it’s own without the problems I was continuing to have!

On top of all this – I’m naseauted. All day – nothing I do is giving me relief! 🙁

I guess on the good side, I’m using the yarn for my sister for a nice lace scarf and it seems to be coming along nicely (I’ll post pics when I get my camera back). And, I got my Knit Picks order – which is the yarn I was planning to use for MS#3 initially so I guess I’ll start over with the new yarn.

AND, I got two loads of laundry done and swept/mopped two rooms….so maybe it was frustrating….but profitable in some ways! Still, I hope tomorrow is better!!
