Via Skype, and eventually Ravelry, I’ve gotten to know a local knitter who sells the yummiest yarn! Jocelyn’s etsy shop is at http://cavyshops.etsy.com Currently I’m fondling – er, knitting some Superwash Merino Fingering Sock Yarn in the Night Lights Colorway

This one is going to be super yummy socks for my sister. In fact, I’m going to use Jocelyn’s sock pattern “Zig Zag” too!

Check her shop out – she’s having a sale right now!! 😀

I’m not sure where it went…but it sure was busy. Here is what I remember:

  • I filed/shredded 8″ of paperwork.
  • I filled out/printed out/copied about three inches of paperwork.
  • I went to two water classes – one where I unfortunately did not wear sunblock so now I’m a slightly pink color.
  • We had two BBQs with the inlaws. One on the Fourth – Eric’s sister’s and kids came too. Then we headed to the local High School and celebrated with other town folk…here are some pics from that:

Oh my – that was hard!!
  • I finished some socks and cast on tons of other projects! lol
  • I attended my weekly Knit Night – here some pics from that one. You never know what you might be asked to model! 😉

  • Attended a preliminary meeting to learn more about buying a home. Not sure what will happen – but definitely feel it can’t hurt to find out if we can afford anything. Scary though!!

Since I’ve joined Ravelry – I’ve found some new projects (you can search a database and add projects to your queque! very cool)  Here are a few I’ve got on my needles right now….

  • Garterlac Dishcloth – not a mindless dishcloth – but I’m only one row into it and I’m loving it!  I think you might end up seeing lots of these from me in the future!
  • Mystery Stole #3 – yes, I’m a lemming!  My friend Theresa was the first person to talk about it – and her work is gorgeous.  But she is my knitting guru and I never thought I could do it.  Then Yarn Harlot mentioned it – and again, I didn’t think I could do it.  But then I realized I was up for a new challenge – so I’m awaiting the yarn and will get started as soon as I can.  If I can meet this challenge – you’ll see photos in a couple of weeks. If it bests me – we’ll never speak of this again!  Sorry – membership is closed – but I believe the pattern will be on sale sometime next Fall.
  • Boxer Shorts – my local knitting group is doing the Boxer Shorts from the book “Greetings from the Knit Cafe“  I’m using Knit Picks’ Shine Sport in Cherry and Cloud (red and gray).  Can’t wait to get started!

Hibernating are:  The Big Shrug, the lace scarf and a mesh shopping bag I messed up horribly! Ugh

Queued (I want to knit someday) are: Trekkie Washcloth, a couple of baby cardigans, Hairband out of Cascade Fixation, and a diagonal lace scarf.  OH! And, socks for my sister!! Darn, I’d better get those on the needles asap!!

So, that’s it for me!  What are you working on??

Another repost from my Knitting Blog…too hot to be able to put a couple of words together…forgive me!

Pattern: Laura’s Fluted Bannister Socks

Yarn: Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Socks, Watercolor

Needles: Addi Turbos, Size 2 (2.76 mm)

Thoughts: Love the yarn, the pattern was great and mindless. I’ll wear them (well, not in THIS heat) but I’m not a fan of the pooling. Did Magic Loop – but cuff-down this time. Still prefer toe-up!
