Annika’s Socks, started February 2nd, 2007, finished February 17th, 2007
Pattern: Toe-Up, Magic Loop, K1P1 then K2P2
Yarn: KnitPicks Parade (75% Superwash Wool, 25% Nylon) – Now discontinued 🙁
Needles: Addi Turbos 2
Pattern Notes: I wanted to do a toe-up sock but I’m really not happy with the heel. I had to do a short row and I just don’t like how they look! 🙁 Trying a new pattern this week and going to try toe-up with gusset heel. I really want to find my “Standard Sock” method! This was close, but not it!
Would I knit it again? Yes – but I don’t like the heel.

Well, we are home again today. My psoriasis is so bad that I don’t want to go to church. I know – it sounds lame – but it is so painful and looks so bad. And, guess what? Though it’s a chronic problem – it turns out stress can cause a flareup – oh joy!! So today and following days I’m going to concentrate on having a more peaceful home.

I know I’ve been quiet online…but I’ve been keeping busy. Lots of work….LOST is back…knitting, of course (more on that next) and I even started a webpage for our Cub Scout Pack. J1 enrolled in Boy Scouts too – so we are getting more involved. DH took on the Asst Cubmaster position for J2’s pack — next year, Lord willing, we’ll have two boys in that pack. And, we found out yesterday that a good friend of J1’s might transfer to his Troop – we hope so!

ON THE NEEDLES:

  • Mom’s Sweater – Still need to block it. Problem is room! But I think I’ll ask her if I can use some space at her house. She’s anxious to have it so it might work out.
  • Socks – I’m knitting some socks for my niece, Annika. They are some funky greens that she liks. Toe-up, magic loop – just need to finish the legs.
  • 5 Hour Baby Sweater – started my third. First two were as in the pattern..for a newborn (8-10 pounds). But I wanted to try bigger. So, talked to my friend Ruth and we figured well, just double it but it seems HUGE! I’ll keep you updated!
  • Lace – Tried to start a shawl, but kept messing up – guess I need a quieter environment – maybe later.

Today, Lets Knit2gether put out a new video podcast. This time on beaded knitting – I see great gift potential here! Check it out!

(I think I’ve taken this quiz before…but I think I got a different answer)

What Kind of Knitter Are You?

You appear to be a Knitting Goddess. You are constantly giving and are unconcerned with reward, you simply want others to love knitting as much as you do. If someone wants to knit miles of novelty yarns, you are there for them. If someone wants to learn short row shaping, you can help. There are no taboos in knitting, only opportunities to grow. Everyone should have friend like you around if they want to learn to knit, and there’s a good chance that your passion has rubbed off on a few others.http://marniemaclean.com

Monday, Monday, can’t trust that day
Monday, Monday, it just turns out that way
Oh Monday, Monday, won’t go away
Monday, Monday, it’s here to stay
Oh Monday, Monday
Oh Monday, Monday

I had wanted to write and tell you all that I’m good. But I’m not. I’m persevering though so that’s something, right?

Thank you all for your prayers and words of encouragement. They mean so much to me. I love that even on my worst days there are people within reach. You listen to my whining and hear my heart

On my needles…well, I’m knitting some gifts so I can’t say too much. Photos after gifts are given. Right now on my needles – I’m knitting toe-up socks for my niece in Knit Picks Parade. And, I’ve played around with the first swatch of the Master Knitting Program – level one.

OK – that’s it for me. I’m alive. I’m here. I’m just quiet.
