After we got our formal schoolwork done I called to see if the library was open again – and it was!! Yippee! It had been closed for a week so they could paint.

J1 was able to find Prince Caspian and the Voyage of the Dawn Treader on DVD – it’s by the BBC – love it! He also found a book about Scooby Doo. Oh well, it has more words than pictures and that was my only criteria!

J2 of course hit the reference section first – I have to force him to go to the fiction area even though I promise I’ll read it to him. He found 1 book on the Roman Army and 4 on Dinosaurs and 1 easy reader about a girl who built a robot out of tin cans. Looks cute. The regular children’s librarian was on break so the stand-in enforced the rule about only 2 reference books per topic can be checked out. 🙁 So two Dinosaur books had to go back!

J3 found a cute book about candy that helps teach about adjectives – good practice for him! He also got a book about Keiko the whale in Free Willy – but I can’t imagine he remembers seeing her when we lived in Oregon.

And, I got three books for the boys – “Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator” (need to finish the first one first!), “Peter Pan and Wendy” and “Sir Gawain and the Green Knight” (I don’t know anything about this book – so I’ll definitely read it first.) And, for me – I found 3 Debbie Macomber books – I love her books about the ladies who knit! So now I’m trying some of her other books!

So the rest of the day is about reading – with occasional breaks to reboot the laundry or cook dinner! I’m off! 🙂

Gosh, it has been so long since I’ve had a moment to write here…I feel like a tresspasser here. There is so much to tell that it’s almost overwhelming and yet nothing is all that interesting! LOL How sad.

J1 and Eric have been on a break since April 18! While it’s nice to have them here…nothing is normal! In traditional Osborn fashion, as soon as Eric was off work he got sick. Maybe he was sick a few days before school was out, but I can’t remember now. We tried to go on our vacation to the Gold Country and, bless his heart, he tried to have a good time. But after 4 days – I got sick. We came home early. I spent about 5 days in bed….very weak. I’m only just now starting to feel human again. We had planned to visit our friends, Gregg & Dixie in Oregon during this break too – but due to the illness, we had to cancel.

J2 has had 2 visits for speech therapy during all this – he really enjoys it and tries very hard. I’m hating the weekly drive to Sacramento and waiting in the van SHOULD be a great time to knit, but even that hasn’t helped lately.

What else to tell you? Oh! The Woodland Area Knitters (WAKs) group that I started is taking off! We have about 12 members of the email list and a neat variety of people come each week to chat, share and knit. I’m really enjoying the diversity of the ladies (no men yet) and seeing the beautiful things they knit! And, the speed! Last week we had a couple of new gals (one who it turned out taught me to knit a few years ago LOL) and they were FAST!! OMGosh! I was amazed.

I’m still working as an indepent contractor for The Homeschool Magazine aka “The Old Schoolhouse” and loving it! In fact, I was just given some more duties! I love that it fits my skills, gifts and abilities so well and that I set the hours/time I will work!

Secret Pals 4 is over! I had the best SP – in fact, I have a photo around here somewhere with the last package of goodies she sent me – the boys loved that she remembered them too!

Well, I’ll try to write more soon – they need my help on the new fort!
🙂

Today I got to unload three boxes of goodies!! Box #1 had my new Canon photo printer!! Box #2 had my new digital camera!!!! and Box #3 had some books for the boys! THAT was really fun! But now I have to learn how to use all these toys!

oh! And, I had three gals join me for the Woodland Area Knitters group!! yippee!! We are even getting pretty close to setting up our first meeting!! I’m so jazzed! Adult-type conversation!!

One downer for today – My sleep study got bumped a month. (sigh) These people don’t understand how hard this is for me! I want to feel good! I want to stay awake if I sit down! I want energy!! The new date is April 21 – I’m doing the countdown now! Please Lord – let this be a good thing! Let me get the help to start feeling good!

First, check out this article: Knitter’s Train! Now I don’t commute, and rarely get to go to the Bay Area anymore – but I’d love to take this trip all the same! But it would HAVE to be kid free! I’ve really been wishing I could join a local knitting group – but the guild in the area meets midday so that doesn’t fit my schedule. I’d love to visit the groups that VioletKnits attends – but I’m not sure about driving into downtown Sacramento at night – I really do prefer the quieter lifestyle my small town provides! But, oh! to talk to other knitters – to be encouraged to keep it up, to get ideas and knowledge! I’m too busy to start something like this in my community…I am! 🙁

We had a really nice Easter weekend. Saturday we cleaned house – the kids were able to play outside almost all day so it stayed clean too! LOL The new Entertainment Armoire arrived – if you are curious to see it, follow this link – I took pics for some online friends who wanted to see pics of it! 🙂 We ended the day by going to visit my DH’s sister and BIL and our nephew. It’s definitely official that I won’t be babysitting this nephew anymore. With the special classes that J2 will need to take – as well as pursuing speech therapy for J3 – that babysitting was becoming something for which I had less and less time. Also, he is starting to look so much like my son, Joshie (who we lost at 8 mos old) that I was completely falling apart each night that he visited me….it was just too hard to keep those feelings at bay. 🙁

Then yesterday, we got up and attended church – it was a great service with some WONDERFUL worship! We skipped out on Sunday School – who knew they would have SS on Easter Sunday??? – and came home to prepare for the family BBQ. I admit…I was really dreading it, but it was very nice. My mom, mil, fil, DH’s brother and 3 of his kids, DH’s sister’s 3 kids (she was sleeping – she works nights as a nurse), DH’s other sister and her son (her hubby was working – he’s a chef)…and then both DH’s sister and his BIL made an appearance at the end of the afternoon – which was very nice as they ate some more of the leftovers and we had time for a nice visit! The kids LOVED the trampoline – we had an egg hunt too. I’m going to add pics to the gallery later today – I’ll post here when they are online!

Well, I’ve got a puddle of J3 at my feet saying he is ‘firsty’ so I’d better get off this ‘puter! Hoping to knit the heels in J1’s slippers today! Take care y’all!!
