I’m feeling very burdened.  We awoke to a flat tire.  All the tires need to be replaced, but we could only afford to replace two right now.  Then the tire guy told Eric that the brakes are paper thin and need to be replaced.  Again!

But you know what?  We all woke up this morning….safe and semi-healthy.  Yes, there was a flat tire but we had the cash to pay for the tires we bought – so no debt.  We will have more money in the next 30 days to buy the other two tires and the brakes.  We didn’t lose a tire – or the brakes – while on the road thus putting our family in danger.

I can focus on the negatives or I can focus on the positives.

I need to work really hard right now to focus on the positives.

Even if I’m the only one doing it.

6 Thoughts on “A lesson for me

  1. A good lesson for all of us! I had a flat this weekend and Bill was gone to a retreat, leaving me with only his work vehicle to drive – but I had a spare car anyway.

  2. Ouch! I feel for you. In June we had to replace all the tires on one vehicle and just a week or so ago we had to replace all four brakes on the van. Sometimes I feel like the enemy wants to throw these things out to see if we will fall on our face instead of leaning on Him.

You can do it Amy. What are you doing this Friday afternoon?

  4. That’s a great lesson for me, too! 🙂 Thanks for sharing that.

  5. Thanks for this post and for the reminder that when times are bad and life throws you challenges, as long as you are safe right now, you’re okay. I really needed to hear this today, as my circumstances (which I won’t burden the blog with) are to the point where it feels like the snowball that’s been rolling down the hill towards me is about to hit and splatter me to Kingdom Come. My positive thinking hasn’t been up to par today.

May God bless you with favor.

  6. Always a good lesson to learn… Want to teach Joe? I’ve been trying to for YEARS, but so far… No such luck. *lol*
