Today we are having a small family BBQ – just Eric, the kids and me. I’m preparing BBQ ribs, corn on the cob and a simple pasta salad.
Tomorrow we are having a larger gathering – at this point we plan to be with Eric’s folks, my mom, my brother, his wife and baby girl, Eric’s sister and her 4 kids….and I’m not sure about Eric’s other sister and son or Eric’s brother and his kids. We’ll eat, swim, slip-n-slide, eat some more and eventually head to the town’s fireworks display towards evening. For tomorrow I only need prepare a potato salad and watermelon- which reminds me that I need to head to the store! Hope everyone (in the US) enjoys their Holiday!!

i just wanted to let you know that i haven’t dropped off the face of the earth – not for lack of trying, anyway 🙂 Let’s just say that traveling cross-country, packed into a plane like a sardine, heatstroke, big city stress and blisters all make for a very entertaining vacation. 😛
Anyhow, i’ve been gone quite a while, and while i hoped to have everything together to send the moment i got back, alas and alack it was not to be. But i wanted to let you know that i’m plotting and gathering for your next giftie, and it will most certinally be in the mail within the next week or so!
i hope your holidays went well, and that the weather is being kind to you as it (sometimes) decides to be for us!
Hi Amy,
Your doing good! Please keep encouraged! Your pictures are great and your fort looks fun and your children are gorgeous hunks! And gosh girl, those BBQ’s have made my feel hungry. 🙂
I understand having a child diagnosed with a disability, and it is very difficult. Brooklyn was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsey this last December. The IEP’s and all those meetings and speech group, EI group, Dr. Appt, Doernbecher’s, Shriner’s…ect, ugh…so much to deal with. We struggled with the thought to diagnose or not diagnose but in the end, she could only get the help with the diagnosis. God has entered us into a new area of ministry with being involved with her friends. Children with disabilities. God will direct you daily and by the minute for the best decisions for your boys. Keep the Faith and don’t stop those yummy BBQ’s. 🙂 Debi S.
