Overall we are OK – but like many families we are going to be experiencing a cut in our monthly budget very soon.  So we are saying goodbye to somethings we’ve been enjoying but are not essential.

Data plan on my phone.  When I registered my new phone, our provider told me I was required to have a data plan.  I didn’t want it … but then I started to use it!  What fun!  But that is gone now.  Oh well.  (and funny that it was “required”, but then they let us discontinue it)

Our big gold van – we hardly ever drive it anymore.  We could save on insurance, licensing fees and parking tickets (long story – sigh).

CSA box.  I haven’t fully decided yet…and I’m prepaid for July.  But I’m not sure I can continue to justify the expense when I look at our budget.  :(  I hope I can keep it, but it might have to go.

I”m pretty good at letting things go – especially when you realize there is just no choice.  C’est la vie!

4 Thoughts on “Letting things go

        1. Eating good food seems like something other than a luxury, IMHO. Maybe a box every-other week?

        2. Sometimes I think we should sell our trailer, because of $$ issues… But Joe won’t hear of it…. Of course, in this ecomony, it would probably be hard to sell it for what it’s actually worth, if we could find a buyer at all! *sigh*

        3. Hugs, I so know where you are at right now because I feel like we are making these same sorts of decisions. One area we had to cut back on was scout outings – with two boys and a husband that likes to go, we just cannot afford weekend outings at $85 a person (Grand Canyon), so we are much more choosy about what we send the boys on. I still do not have a working dishwasher – it was that or voice lessons for dd and of course voice lessons won out. The list goes on, but I know in the end God always provides.

        4. I remember when you bought your pop-up and all the hard work you put into cleaning it! But you’ve gotta do, what you’ve gotta do!
