Today, Thursday, is day 4 of this new way of eating.  Though to be honest, other than no grains or fruit (for first two weeks only), I realized I’ve not really changed my method of eating too much.  And, after the first day – I’ve quit craving certain foods.  But I do wish I could eat one of the super fresh peaches, melons or pears that came in my CSA box today!! 🙁

The 2nd day of the diet, I got my period – which explained some of the stress I was experiencing just before the change.   It might also have something to do with the weigh loss I experienced.  In fact, I keep weighing myself just to see if it’s for real.  I hesitate to share about this for SO many reasons…but mainly because I never lose weight.  Seriously….weight watchers, the last time we did atkins, mcdougall (sp?),  that expensive but nasty diet we tried in PDX (blech!!)….I never lose!   The last time I remember losing weight was in 1988.  sigh.  That’s over 20 years of feeling like a failure.

In the past 3 days, I’ve lost 10 lbs!  No, seriously!!

Check it out! I have a long way to go – and maybe my goal is unrealistic – it’s 20 lbs less than I weighed when I got married but it is a goal!

But my first goal is to be down 50 lbs before our vaction in Fall 2010 to VA & Washington DC…but I’m so encouraged I’m thinking I might get there before that date!!  😀

  7. Fantastic job honey! I’m a bit jealous but certainly don’t begrudge you your success. I’m having a harder time with this than I anticipated. Diabetes seems to make everything harder and dorkier :o( Oh well, at least I don’t have to measure or weigh food or count too much stuff before I can eat. And you have made lots of really good dinners too! Thanks!!
