I’m sorry Secret Pal – I did receive and open your gift last weekend while I was still sick…but I was waiting to say anything because I wanted to take a photo and I just did that today! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the colors – but to be honest I’m a bit nervous about how this actually comes together! I can’t wait to try it though! Have you knit this project? If so, any advice?
For everyone else – here is what I got!
The pattern is call “The Lost Points Shawl” and there are two balls of yarn – Bamboo yarn “Fiery Red” and Melody – a sort of ladder yarn.
I’ll post pics when I start knitting this!
Oh, and my wrist – I like things a bit loose – so 7.5″ is best. 🙂

Actually, I’m doing the shawl *with* you. I can’t let you have all the fun, can I? LOL!
I have frogged once because I mis-read directions on the K, M1 line. That’s what I get for starting on it at 10pm at night, right? Melody is proving to be difficult to knit with at first, but now I have the hang of it. The trick is to keep the stitches nice and loose with the Melody, I think. I’m really enjoying working on this pattern now!

What a unique and lovely pattern
Just a quick update on the Lost Points shawl pattern. After I got it to the point of working in the round, this has been a BREEZE. Such a small joy to knit this one. I found that having another set of straight needles was handy for picking up the stitches as needed — it was easier for me to just let the circs hang until I got to the last picked-up stitches, and then voila! It was all on circs and ready to go!
The bamboo solid yarn works very, very well. I think I will knit with this yarn more often for other projects. Hope you’ll have the time to start this one sooner rather than later — it’s been giving me those Zen moments that mommies need at the end of the day. :p
