Today, J3 was in tears over breakfast. I’m sure it was 80% weariness and 20% pain (he has an open blister on his hand – poor guy).  But I decided that missing a day of first grade isn’t that important in the whole scheme.  We are going in all directions lately so I’m praying that the extra day of rest will help.  And, I truly miss him when he goes to school every day.  Maybe next year DH will agree to all three of them being homeschooled!

But what I really wanted to share about is that he is reading his first book!  No one asked him to read it – so in my book (haha) that is something that should be celebrated!

Here he is this morning – reading more of it!  Oh, I just looked over and he’s asleep – poor thing!

5 Thoughts on “J3’s first book

  1. That is such a sweet picture!

  2. Isn’t that exciting. It’s always a thrill when they start reading for themselves and do it without being asked. 🙂

That is the most adorable picture!!!

  4. My D’s first book was Green Eggs And Ham! Dr. Seuss is annoying at times, but all that rhyming and stuff really helps with phonics and reading!

  5. Way to go, J3! I love to see my kids read!
