I’m working and the boys are babysitting and watching television with Sissy.  J3 (8) comes to me and asks…

“Mom, what does sensual mean?”

“What?”

“Sensual.”

“Where did you hear that word?”  (starting to freak out just a bit!)

“On tv.” (great! What are they watching?!?)

“What did they say?”

“You know….’at 7 o’clock sensual and mountain’…like that.”

“OOOOHHH, you mean CENTRAL!”

LOL

The sweet pickles were a nice treat, but my Hubs prefers dill pickles.  I’ve been saying I need to look for a recipe, but I’ve had zero time!  But today I got a copy of Taste of Home magazine and there on page 35 of the June/July issue is a refrigerator dill pickle recipe!  Sweet!

Eric and I are going to start the South Beach Diet on Saturday.  We’ve been toying around with the idea for awhile and it really seems to be dovetailing in well with my desire to feed the kids less processed foods.  I’m trying to remain optimistic about it.

~~~~~~
I’ve been sick for a few days.  Not so much that I must be in bed 24/7 but just enough to make me miserable and depressed.
~~~~~~

On the plus side, when I’m sick I have more opportunity to knit.  I finished the sleeves of my sweater and am only 2.5 skeins away from being done!! Still love it and can’t WAIT to wear it!  I also figured out who is due a Christmas stocking and started one of them.

~~~~~~
I haven’t subscribed to Taste of Home magazine in quite awhile….it’s really different!  In fact, they have advertisements now!!  When did that happen?!
I have ordered all my curriculum for our homeschool year 2009/2010.  We still needed J2’s math and our science book.  One blessing:  since I delayed buying J2’s math at the beginning of the summer, they started to sell it differently.  I was able to order exactly what I needed and save $30!!
I’m not responsible for J1’s homeschool curriculum, and we haven’t heard from the teacher yet.  That makes me nervous, but I keep reminding myself it’s not my job to worry about it!
J2 (almost 13) just got home from his first youth group camping trip – a co-ed trip.  I didn’t even really think too much about that until I asked him about his trip.  He said, “Well, I figured something out.  Girls laugh at stupid jokes.  A lot.
LOL  Not really sure why that makes me laugh, but I’m still giggling! 😉
Guess I’m just a girl.
I had a knitting dream and shared about it in Ravelry.  I think it’s too funny not to share here too:
Last night I was knitting in my dreams!
Was I knitting a beautiful blanket?
A cozy cardigan?
A lace shawl?
Nope.
I was knitting 6” tall gnomes and a ball to knock them down with! Yep – I was knitting so we could do gnome bowling! How weird is that?!?!
Off to see if there is a pattern in Ravelry…..
oh my goodness!! I found the exact ones I was knitting in my dream!
lol
weirder and weirder!
Tonight my kids gave me some gifts….
  • A silver cross
  • Stud earrings
  • Ferrero Rondnoir (dark chocolate) Yum!
  • 4 gig USB disc drive
  • A “Princess” mug – Hubby thinks he’s SO funny! 😉
  • A griddle/grill for my stove top! Pancakes are in our future!!
And, I was able to get a nap while J1 babysat and Hubs, J2 and J3 shopped!  AND, Hubby brought home a pizza for dinner!  SWEET!!
