Last night, G & G O, Grammy, Aunt Susan and Cousin K came over for cake, ice cream and present opening.  It was a very nice, relaxed time.  Poor Aunt Anne & kids were sick – we pray they are better before their upcoming vacation.

Here are some pictures of our evening:

* My Grandpa Davis made this cradle for me when I was little.  And, the small doll quilt is one I made with my Grandma Davis!  I love that I can share it with Sissy (it’s been at my Mom’s since I was a little girl).

**She says Momma, drinks her bottle, closes her eyes and snores when you lay her down! It’s so fun!  Can’t wait to set up her nursery today!

When I was young – living at home with my mom – my sister and I had a (unspoken?) agreement.  She would bake and I would clean! It worked great for us….except now she is up in the Foothills and I’m down here obsessively counting marshmallows!

So, what am I doing today?

I’m baking a birthday cake for Sissy (with purple icing and blackberries), a sugar-free peach crisp for Hubs and my FIL (they are both diabetics) and since the kitchen is already a mess – I think I’ll start a batch of those homemade pickles!

My sister better be proud of me cause I’m waaaaay out of my comfort zone! 😉

Today, Sissy turns two years old!  She’s been with our family now for 16 mos and she couldn’t be more of a blessing!

This morning I was awoken by big brothers who thought she should be allowed to open the presents from Grandma & Grandpa Watson because “she needs practice” lol.  I argued a bit for show but then, after breakfast we sat down in the living room and she practiced! lol
