Friday we drove up to Millville to Geocache with my Dad & stepmom and visit Brett, Christy, K1, K2 and baby-to-be-born 😉

Well, K1 is always SUCH a kick in the pants!  And, as usual she cracked me up. Hope you enjoy this too!

Traveling in our car she says “I smell dog poo!”

“Well, check your shoes!” I said

K1 replied, “My shoes ONLY have Sheep poo!”

and then later,

I asked K1 how old she’d be on her upcoming birthday.  She said she’d be 4.  I decided to tease her and said, “Well, you’d better watch out or your going to be an old lady!”

She said “No, I’m going to be a boy!”

“I don’t think so K1”

“You just wait and see, Aunt Amy!”

See why she’s so fun to hang out with?! lol

It’s been over six years since Joshua died.

After the funeral someone (my sister, my husband, my mom, me???) boxed up all his blankets, clothes, toys, and whatever reminded us of him.

The 4 tubs were at my mom’s house for the first couple of years.  Then we put them in storage and now they are in our garage.

Until today.

Right now my MIL and Hubs are sorting through everything to either keep as a momento or give to charity.  I’ve tried to do it many times but I couldn’t.  I still can’t.  I’m in here hiding because I can’t handle whatever is in those boxes. But I also hate knowing they are out there too.  We just don’t have room to store them forever and it really doesn’t seem healthy to hold onto them for no purpose.  So I’ll be glad when it’s done.

It’s like a bandaid that’s been on too long.  I need it to be taken off but I am afraid of the pain that will come with it’s removal.  Right now I just want them to hurry up and rip it off already.

Many years ago we – ok, 12.5 years ago – we went to the Portland area to meet our 2nd son.  He was living with a wonderful family who were a blessing and neat example of a Christian, loving family.  When son #3 was born, Laurie came to meet and cuddle him too.

When we learned about Sissy, I wondered how Laurie and her family were doing.  I googled her a few times with no luck.  A few days ago I tried again on Facebook.  No luck, but there was a young lady with the same last name in Portland.  I decided, nothing ventured, nothing gained.  And, at first it looked like there was no connection.  On a whim, I looked in our photo album and realized I had messed up her first name!  I emailed the young lady again – thinking, if I’m still wrong, I’ll never bug her again!  And, I’m so glad I persevered – as Laurie is her mom!

Here are some pictures of our first meeting with J2 – in Laurie’s home – and a couple of her cutie daughters! (Next time I’ll know to take the protective sleeve off before scanning a photo!)
