We have been preapproved to buy a home.  Great news – if we lived somewhere in the middle of the country we’d be able to find a great starter home.  Out here…not so great.  It’s ok – I choose to live here.  I want to live here.  I don’t want to leave….thus the home buying.

But it’s so depressing to look at these homes.  They need so much work….have such small spaces….small yards…meh neighborhoods.  It’s hard to see the potential.  It’s hard to imagine how we can clean it up and make it nice.  I know we can….we’ve lived in some scary places before.  But that was before kids….when we were younger and had more energy.

Ok…no more whining….who’s got time anyway! LOL  Just PLEASE pray for us….this is a huge decision and we are frankly scared witless!

J2 struggles with reading.  He struggles with language.  He struggles with writing…being understood…and understanding.

But he can see things we never can.  I was sent this puzzle in a homeschool group I belong too – I couldn’t figure it out.  Couldn’t even google the answer!

“OH J2…can you help me???”

Yep!  He did it!

Go try and see if you can figure this puzzle out….if you can, let me know….you are in good company with J2.  But if you are like me and need help, let me know and I’ll show you how J2 figured it out!  Smart Kid!!

I have a great group of IRL (In Real Life) friends.  For a looong time I couldn’t say this as the majority (not all!) of my friends were online only.  When I started a local knitting group 3 or 4 years ago I never thought I would be finding truly good friends…but I have!

Not only am I blessed to meet with them all one or two times a week – but a few of us have started quilting together too!  We go to Cloth Carousel in Winters, CA on the first Saturday of every month and get our new square for the month.  Yes, it takes a whole year to get a quilt’s worth of squares, but even that might be too fast for me! LOL

This month I didn’t get my quilt square done – it was a whirlwind of too much to do and well, I really don’t want to review it all.  I was mad, disappointed and hurt that no one seemed to value what I wanted to do – but let’s not go there!

My friend, Trina, showed up in the middle of a pity party I was holding for myself Saturday afternoon – not only had she picked up the new square for me – but she brought me a sewing machine for me to borrow (the machine was part of the problem this month).  It was SUCH a blessing and I did my best not to cry!

Yesterday, during JGirl’s nap I finished May’s square and cut out June’s.  This morning I was up at 6am so I finished it!  :D  Here they are:
