I think I’ve shared on here before about J1 being a real Drama King! Well, the other night he was asked – and then told! – to go clean his room. As he ran down the hall – not happily – to his room he was heard to wail, “Why has hell descended upon me?”

Where do they come up with this stuff! We, of course, being the cruel parental units we are – laughed and laughed!

I found this on another grieving mom’s site – it’s so perfectly true:
PLEASE, SAY THEIR NAMES

Go ahead and mention my child,
The one that died, you know.
Don’t worry about hurting me further.
The depth of my pain doesn’t show.
Don’t worry about making me cry.
I’m already crying inside.
Help me to heal by releasing
The tears that I try to hide.
I’m hurt when you just keep silent,
Pretending he didn’t exist.
I’d rather you mention my child,
Knowing that he has been missed.
You asked me how I am doing.
I say “pretty good” or “fine.”
But healing is something ongoing.
I feel it will take a lifetime.

Well, I typed a looong post about our boooring weekend and when I went to another window to look up a link, the post disappeared! 🙁 I’m not up to retyping it – sorry – you’d just be bored anyway.

But here is the link: A new group I just joined where we knit a dishcloth a month – a great way to learn some new stitches! Join us!!

My Friend, Perri, posted this on her blog – and I thought it a good excercise! So, here goes!

The Challenge is to find 10 things you are thankful for within 1 meter (3.2 ft) of where you sit. If you do this – please leave a comment so I can read your list!

OK, moving counter-clockwise – very unique for me! 😉

1) My DH – who encourages me and supports me and even aggravates me! 😉 I can truly say he is my best friend!

2) My laptop – which allows me to maintain friendships all over the US and Canada and even make some money to help out.

3) My new thermometer – a gift from my mom for my birthday. The perfect thing for a techno geek! Not only does it give me the temp in the room – but a wireless remote allows me to know the temp outside – and it has an atomic clock feature! Very cool!

4) Two bookshelves of books – fiction, theology, homeschool texts and more! We love books!

5) My Wand – purple of course to match my tiara! It is a gift from my aunt. It is from the HeartChange seminar – my Wand of Choice. It is to remind me that it is my decision to have no more excuses. “If you do what you’ve always done you’ll get what you’ve always got.”

6) The Poster I made at HeartChange – it is my ‘dagger’, my weapon against the enemy. Mine says “I am a worthy child of God – loved and accepted by my Heavenly Father.” (Mark 10:13-16, esp 16)

7) A pen and ink drawing of Jesus playing with a baby. Given to us after Joshie died.

8) Our cockatiel – Beaker – who welcomes me every morning!

9) A picture of my three boys.

10) My Bible – a personal letter from my Savior! 🙂

You’re To Kill a Mockingbird!
by Harper Lee
Perceived as a revolutionary and groundbreaking person, you have
changed the minds of many people. While questioning the authority around you, you’ve
also taken a significant amount of flack. But you’ve had the admirable guts to
persevere. There’s a weird guy in the neighborhood using dubious means to protect you,
but you’re pretty sure it’s worth it in the end. In the end, it remains unclear to you
whether finches and mockingbirds get along in real life.
