I was knitting some hand warmers for my stepmom’s birthday. But when my boys saw them they LOVED them! So, now I’m going to need to knit another pair for J1 (J2 claimed these) and one for my stepmom….or maybe something else.
Also, I finished the back of the baby dress for Baby Suarez:
It was hard to photograph because of rolling – but when I seam it up – it should look very nice! Baby is due mid-Dec – I’d better get busy!

Last week I found out that a yarn store in West Sacramento was closing and today I found out that the yarn store I love in Davis is closing. I’m so bummed! I also found out someone is opening a store here in Woodland next month, but I was feeling conflicted because I’d hate to have the Davis store close….and now it is. So, now I feel like the Woodland store can’t possibly make it either. (sigh)
I try to buy from local stores whenever possible, but due to our budget I also need to buy online (KnitPicks). I feel guilty. But I honestly can say that I shopped there as much as possible. But I guess I still feel guilty. 🙁
Here is my knitting update….
BOXERS - I’ve finished one leg and I’m afraid it will be HUGE!! :( I’m going to persevere though because (1) it’s wonderfully mindless (see post below) and (2) I’m going to be sleeping in them – so fit is not imperitive.
SHRUG -It’s finally cooled down again so I can work on it. My friend helped me measure it and it looks like I only am 1 foot away from being done! Can’t wait to wear it!!
Baby Susanna’s Dress – Finally I’ve found a pattern that is working for me. I’ve done about 5 inches but I’m going to wait to take a picture – not very interesting yet!
So, that’s it – sort of boring – but boring is good right now!! 😉
Sadly it took me two days to Kitchner the toes! LOL

Well, there have been craziness going on in our life and it’s affecting my knitting!
On one hand – the Baby Cable Rib socks for J2 are almost done because it’s wonderfully mindless knitting.
On the other hand – I’ve attempted and frogged a baby dress for Baby Susanna (due 12/15/07 to my boss and her hubby) 3 or 4 times.
Seems I can finish things or do mindless knitting but starting something new is just not working out. Weird what stress does to you! So, I’m going to use this new power for good! (lol) I will finish J2’s socks for the September’s “Sock A Month” KAL. Then I’ll finish my Big Shrug! At the speed I’m able to do mindless knitting – I’m thinking I could be done in a week or so.
Then I can either try Baby Susanna’s dress again – or finish the boxers. If I have to – Baby Susanna’s dress will be modified to a cute hat and booties – but darn I love this dress!! And, this squishy pink yarn…yum!
The one casualty from this potential change to our life? I have NO intention of knitting 20 miniture Christmas stockings for Dh’s coworkers anymore. Maybe next year. However, by next year I could be dealing with a walker – so maybe the year after that! LOL
