Found this song today via Claudia at Baby Steps Out – SO needed today!
We’ve had a pretty rough few days and we feel we are at the end of our rope.
But in the midst of pain there is humor. One of the boys has rediscovered his lifebook – his foster mom did a great job creating it for him! This has lead to many conversations about their tummy mom, foster moms and everything else. One topic of interest lately is what possible race they might be. One of the kids is pretty sure his birth father was Latino. But they all really look alike, so I don’ t know.
But this morning one of them says “I think I’ve got some Asian in me.”
“Really,” I reply, “I don’t think I see that.”
“Well, you might not see if, but you can know it.”
I give him a quizzical look and he says, “I make really good stir fry!” LOL
oh dear
So, it’s not been a great day around here for this Momma!
The eldest waited for his dad to leave this morning and then tried to change the rules. Â When I stuck to my guns, I was told I was an idiotic control freak. Â Ok – I can live with that! Â 😉
The 2nd oldest is at the library with his resource teacher. Â Supposedly it’s my fault that he has to go there and be with her. Â He was very disrespectful with me and lost some of his priviledges. Â Again, I can live with that! Â 😉
3rd son is not happy with me because he still has math and spelling to do today but is doing it anyway! Â I can definitely can live with that! 🙂
Sissy is in bed – no longer crying so I can live with that – after a big meltdown when it was time for us to leave the library so I could finish my chores/work/homeschool. Â 🙁
Darn, I just realized it’s only 2pm. Â I’ve got 7 or 8 hours left!
Going to TRY to live with that!
(wonder if I can find any chocolate in one of their candy stashes?) lol
Hubs called me from work today to see how our morning went and we both were just so relieved that halloween is behind us! I’m sorry but I don’t know that I’ll EVER be a fan of this holiday. Â I’ve tried various tactics to keep it a simple day but no matter what it’s just a big stress ball of a day!
And, today we start the candy battle – where I try to keep them from losing their teeth and minds to all that sugar! Â Part of me thinks ‘let them eat it all today’ and part of me wants to slap that part for being so crazy!
One funny thing, when the kids were younger I instituted a candy tax…and now they gladly give me a few candies they know I will love! Â LOL Â Not a good match for my Weight Watchers though!
Here is J3 and his stash:
and a special message for me….
