Hubs called me from work today to see how our morning went and we both were just so relieved that halloween is behind us! I’m sorry but I don’t know that I’ll EVER be a fan of this holiday. Â I’ve tried various tactics to keep it a simple day but no matter what it’s just a big stress ball of a day!
And, today we start the candy battle – where I try to keep them from losing their teeth and minds to all that sugar! Â Part of me thinks ‘let them eat it all today’ and part of me wants to slap that part for being so crazy!
One funny thing, when the kids were younger I instituted a candy tax…and now they gladly give me a few candies they know I will love! Â LOL Â Not a good match for my Weight Watchers though!

Did you see what Matt Rexroad’s wife did – GENIUS!!! After the kids went to bed, she gave all their candy away to their last trick-or-treaters and then gave them a gift instead of the candy – I’m stealing her idea for next year LOL!
A local dentist buys candy from kids – $1/lb. The kids get a free toothbrush (one of the character ones – not the cheap oral b ones they usually give out) and some cash. And the candy is all shipped overseas to the troops. LOVE THAT!!!
My girls only got half a bucket each… And I just make sure they brush and floss well and try not to stress about it. *lol*
