Today I am thankful for….
I could go on an on – truly! But there is a big meal to be created and friends and family arriving in a few hours! I pray you are able to take a few moments to remember your blessings!
I’m sitting at my laptop – my back is to the television area where Sissy (3) has placed herself. I hear her turn on the television. I’m working so I’m not paying complete attention until I hear, “Mommy, I don’t want to watch this…it’s scaawee!” I wonder who was watching the television last and what could possibly be scary.
I turn and look at the television.
I look at my daughter.
“This is scaring you?”
“Yes, it’s scaawee!”
And, the television is on Fox News where Bill O’Reilly is interviewing Karl Rove. Not sure which one scared her, but I know I’ll enjoy watching Eric’s conflicting emotions as I tell him that his daughter is scared of them! LOL
Overheard in my house:
3 yr old: Daddy, it your birthday?
Daddy: Not anymore.
3 yr old: Why? (worried voice)
Daddy (in his teaching voice): Because I was born on November 7th. So on November 7th, I get a birthday. But it’s only one day. On November 8th it’s over.
3 yr old: uh, huh. And, give me a banana.
(Parents: laughter)
(and we have no idea if anything got through to her! LOL)
