We had our Pinewood Derby this weekend!  J2 did not win – but he had a great time and is already planning next year’s car.  I was not able to be there until after his race due to running J1 to a party – so DH took tons of photos – but only a few turned out.

I knit – and my boys create with Legos! :)  Here’s the fruit of our recent labors:

LEGOS:

J1 made the following this weekend.  A robot, a happy man and a house with vegetation:

And I’ve finished some knitted things:

My Red Scarf is ready to be shipped on Wednesday…

I can’t tell how much I hate when my kids get a birthday invitation.  And, when their own birthdays come around – I just want to hide away until they are over.  We are not rich.  And, even if we were not – the current trends in birthday parties for children just does not sit right with me.

This article reminds me of this article at TOS by Jen Igarashi:  How to Make a Monster in Three Easy Steps.
What do you all think about birthdays?  Are you like me – a “bad” mommy who refuses to  succumb to the hoopla?  Or do you go all out?

I appreciate your prayers and kind words. You all are a very big part of my journey and I am so thankful that the Lord has brought you into it for me.

In other news 🙂 I finished the Branching Out scarf for my secret sister and since I had so much yarn left over thought I’d see if I could do a hat. I’m doing Grumperina’s Odessa hat – lovely! No beads for me however! Pics soon – I promise!
The begining of this week will be very busy – tonight we are meeting with the Scoutmaster to see how we can help out (DH will be doing some character training each month and I’m offering to help with a webpage). Tomorrow it’s a den meeting and Knit Night! Not sure how much knitting I’ll get done!

Can I count Annika’s projects as MINE?? LOL One week and she got her scarf done! She showed up here 20 mins before work and needed me to teach her how to bind off! Very cool!

Here are her blue nails 😉 and binding off:

And here is her finished work!

Here is what I’ve been up to for my Secret Sister – about half done:

And, here is the detail – I’m really thinking about not blocking this – I like it like this!  What do you think?
