Sorry I’ve been gone – sickness has hit our house! 🙁 Mainly sniffles, but poor J3 has had a fever, an ear infection and two different antibiotics over the last week and a half. I’ve been hit by killer allergies – hoping the new meds I bought will give me some relief. My allergies mainly affect my eyes – they weep so much it looks like I’m crying! Thus, not much knitting is getting done!

On the good side, I’ve finally found a schedule that allows for us to get all our school work done AND still handle life’s little emergencies! We are starting school at about 7:30 each morning. Often we are done well before 10am! So far we’ve not missed a day! And, I’m doing more work for TOS – I love the projects they give me!! Such fun! 🙂

Well, I’d better get back before my ‘student’ notices I’m missing! 😉

My boys are all drama kings – and love imaginary play. Today DH witnessed the following monologue as J1 was sliding backwards (slowly) off his bed…

“Help! I’m dying….and I never lived to see Paris!”

DH laughed and asked where he had heard such a phrase but, of course, there was no response as he was dead!

Maybe you had to be here….cracked us up though!

We were able to sleep in….that right there made this day sooooo nice! We cleaned the house and ran a few errands and then we headed outside and enjoyed the sunshine! Here is J1 on the trampoline:

Eric and I did a bit of weeding and I mowed the front lawn and Eric mowed the back lawn. Eric also put together this table and benches which I hope we can enjoy this Spring and Summer for homeschool lessons as well as eating and entertaining!

Right now I need to figure out how to finish it…stain or paint? And, what else do I need to know so that it will last?! ARgh!!
I called my BIL and asked him to come help me in a couple of weeks. We are going to loose a big walnut tree in the back yard and I hope we will have enough sun to have a bit of garden…but where? And what do I need to the ground here to get it to grow? I know I overthink these things…and that is why I don’t enjoy it. But I hate to go to all the trouble and have nothing to show for it. Anyway, I hope he’ll come and help me figure out a plan for my yard.

Lastly, here was a little treat I noticed today hidden in the overgrown lavender in the backyard….a bit of Spring color…hope you can see it!

After posting this am, my friend Ruth, called to see if I was able to shop! Costco and Sears were the targets – sounded simple enough, let’s hit the road! Costco as no big deal – was hoping to find DH a valentines gift but didn’t find one. Did find some good things for the pantry which were good deals – maybe I need to make it a part of our monthly shopping experience!

I bought myself a treat too – they were selling bulbs. I bought 15 “Oriental Hybrid Lilies” which will bloom mid summer in full sun to partial shade. I hope they will work for my front bedding area. I plan to give Ruth 1/2 of them in trade for half of whatever she bought – which I can’t remember now. I think she is willing to give me some glads too – her yard is full of beautiful ones every year.

Then onto Sears – which we forgot was connected to the Arden mall…ugh and again, ugh! It was ridiculous! We found what she wanted immediately, but being “allowed” to buy it was a joke which I don’t care to share now! Just believe me when I share that it will be awhile before I return to that particular store/mall! Ugh!!

I *did* find a new coffeepot and DH’s valentines gift there at Sears while we waited! 🙂

And I was able to get about 4″ done on my scarf…but I’m afraid the weather will change before I truly get to enjoy it! Better get to knitting! I hear it’s supposed to rain tomorrow – that’s good for me!! 🙂
