Theresa asked in the comments why no photos of all these projects…well, it’s because I give them away! LOL  One of the reasons I have so many was due to all those hats – for charity and all my boys!  I’ll try to be better – I promise!

Oh, and Theresa – I registered for the level 1 of TKGA’s master program – gonna do it too?

My favorite podcast is asking how many projects we’ve completed in 2006. Well, I was sure surprised when I added mine up!

Felted purses – 4

Socks – baby 2
Socks – adult 3

Baby Sweaters – 3

Shawl – 2

Scarves – 3

Hats – 10

Christmas Stockings – 2

GRAND TOTAL: 29!!

Wow – I’m surprised! My favorite were probably my socks which I call the Monet Socks due to the colors.
So, 2007 – what will I knit! Well, I’m planning some lace…some socks…finish the sweater that is currently making me crazy…and I’m about 90% sure I’m going to do TKGA’s Master Knitter Program. Looking forward to 2007!! 🙂

This week has FLOWN by!  I think part of the reason is that I’ve been faithfully doing my water class – so that changes the flow of our day.  After everyone else leaves for school, I’ve been working for TOS then going to my class and J2 goes for a walk with Grandpa.  They usually walk the mall and it has included a treat each day – sort of defeating the purpose!  Then I’m home and we get lunch.  After lunch we’ve been doing school – we are both looking foward to two weeks off!

Then I’ve been knitting.  A lot.  I am about 1/2 done with two hats at once for the charity knitting – but DH wants one of them so I need to knit one more this weekend.  The deadline is Tuesday night.  I. will. not. fail!  I’ve been resisting the urge to cast on anything new – but darn I want to knit some of that lace!  I’ve got the yarn.  I’ve got the book.  I’ve got the needles.  I’ve even joined a KAL or Two.  And, my hands are itching to do it!  BUT, I’m going to show restraint and…

1) Finish these hats for charity

2) Finish the purple socks

3) Tink and fix the sweater and finish it

…all before I start ANYTHING new.  (sigh) I’m being so good I’m sick of myself! 😉

OH! And, I joined The Knitting Guild Association (TKGA) yestday!  And, I’m praying about whether or not to start the Master Knitting Program.  I was thinking not to tell anyone that I was trying it – because if I fail, then no one can give me a hard time or nag me about whether or not I’m doing it.  (Why do people feel required to do that?? And, why do I have people like that in my life??  Another topic for another day!)

AAAANNNNYWAY,  that’s my boring life in a nutshell lately.  Well, add laundry, dishes, cooking and THAT’s my boring life!  Sooooo thankful for podcasts and audiobooks while I knit!  No more icky television – well, except Mythbusters – new one last night was great!

I.AM.SUCH.AN.IDIOT!!!!!

So, surely you read about how I picked up my sweater again and to start knitting and how I realized I need to frog about 8″ because I had misread the pattern! But I cheerfully frogged it and got back to where I was and now I’m on side #2 and I’m at the point where I’m to decrease 2 times for the next 7 rows. The same place I had messed up, but fixed now, on the other side panel. After attending yesterday’s lace class I know now that ssk will slant to the left and k2tog will slant to the right. And, I realize I want to ssk so that it will look nice. So I decrease the first row – yes, 2 times as the pattern instructs. And, it hits me. DECREASE! Not bind off! OH.MY.WORD!! I have a sinking feeling in my stomach as I turn off the podcast and reach for the other side panel. Despair! I.am.an.idiot. (sigh) I had BO 2x for 7 rows and then again at the neckline. (bigger sigh)

Part of me says “let it go – it’s your first sweater – you should have mistakes”. The other part of me – the part I’m going to listen to – is telling me “you will not be proud of this sweater – like you should be – if you do not fix this mistake.” And, yes…I hear my college psychology professor chanting “Don’t should on yourself!” 😉

I’m just sick about this! It’s definitely going in the time-out drawer until I can face it again. Back to charity hats! At least they like me!
