I’m not a monogamous knitter – I like different knitting projects for different moods!  For instance, when I’m stressed – it’s a sock or a dishcloth I want to knit!  That is why I am actually sharing four works in progress today – not just one – on this first time I am posting for Works in Progress Wednesday!  Next week I’ll only post whatever I was able to knit on during this week – that is assuming I get some knitting time!

First up is my second February Lady.  If this one doesn’t fit well, I will never make it again! Using Cotton Fleece from Brown Sheep.  I started this on March 28, 2013 and I hope to have it done this month for a UFO project for a knitting group on Ravelry.

Second are socks for Hubs.  The pattern is Time Traveler Socks and the yarn is Cascade Heritage solids. I started these on March 18, 2013.  Turns out the brown is really hard to knit. 🙁  But I will continue on because I think he will love them!

Next is an Alpaca Wrap.  The yarn is some Alpaca I had in my stash and the pattern is Herringbone Lace Wrap.  It is really hard to see the pattern and I’m seriously considering frogging it and doing something simpler as it’s just not worth the effort.  I started this project on Feb 17, 2013 and it might be ignored for the summer so it’s either knit it now or put it away until next Fall.  (picture looks light grey, but it’s black)

Last, is my Zora.  It was a great knit but all I need to do now is finish it!  Ugh.  I hate sewing! I used Knit Picks Essential Tweed, colorway Ash Tweed.  I started it on May 26, 2010 (yes, you read that right!)  I really want to finish it but ugh.  Here it is – back, two sides, and two arms.  They need to be blocked (hard to do in this house) and then sewn up and together.  From now on – ONLY seamless sweaters will be knit by me!

So, what about you?  Share your Works in Progress! I wanna see!!

10 Thoughts on “Works in Progress Wednesday

  1. Nice WIPS…I especially love that last sweater. I have a rambunctious pup and a one bedroom apartment so I hear what you say about blocking being hard…but the thrill of an FO especially a wearable is totally worth it! I try and block on my dining table when possible and eat at the couch that day. Well, we eat by the couch every day since my DH wants to watch T and eat. Not a good habit, but one I can’t get him to ditch!

    • @Medha – for me, it’s kids – lots of them – and a small house. But I was thinking I could block it on the outdoor table and it would probably dry in minutes! Going to give that a try!

  2. I have been wanting to make a February Lady sweater for myself. Hope this comes out just the way you want it.

    • @ Carol – I’ll let you know as I go. One thing I learned from the first one, cotton yarn tends to grow…so I’m knitting this one a bit smaller than I think I want it. Worse case scenario, I’ll end up giving it to someone else!

  3. I reckon you like grey? Your projects are nice. I too have different wips for different moods. Most of the time I like to knit along and not to be too focused on a complicated pattern. Of course, sometimes I need a challenge. 🙂

    • @ Regula – Oh my goodness, I didn’t even notice that! well, I love black cardigans (they go with everything!) but I don’t to knit with black, so grey is the next best thing!

  4. I’m not a monogamous knitter either. There are just too many projects to work on. How could I commit?

    • @ Michelle (I’m noticing my replies aren’t going in the correct order) Right! Plus some days I just don’t want to work on some projects – thus, the Zora that is 2 yrs old!

  5. Hi – I have to confess to also having lots of projects on the go at any time. They need to match my mood, concentration level, and whether I’m getting bored with one project and looking for variety. I’m impressed with your selection – they all look interesting to work on ‘:-)
