Several of my knitting friends and I are doing a 12 month “First Saturday Sampler” quilt. Each month we are given a kit for a quilt block. As long as we finish by the next month, we get the next block free – otherwise we pay a fee. Today I finally got mine done! 🙂

Also, today I had wonderful success at a local used baby store! I found 4 diaper wraps, a couple of outfits (nothing like a mother-in-law to encourage you!! LOL) but even more exciting – I got THE car seat I had hoped to find for less than 1/2 the original cost AND THE high chair we wanted! No photos of the car seat – the owner hadn’t had time to clean it yet but here is the high chair.

The nice thing about this chair – other than it is portable and fits on our kitchen chairs – is that it reclines in a bunch of different angles (this is fully reclined)!

  1. What a day Amy! 🙂

  2. You’re going to love the reclining part. Ours did that and it was great for first feedings. 🙂 … It’s an awesome looking high chair. They didn’t make ones like that when Jared was a baby and we were buying.

Love the quilt block! The Log Cabin is one of my favorite patterns. 😀

  3. All this quilting going on is making me want to start back up, too!! 🙂

What a great haul you made at the shop!! Was it Style Your Child? They always have something good! You know, that was where Ashley and I met and I invited her to knit night.

  4. Hi Amy! I’m from the PW e-mail group and am happy to see your news of JGirl!

We have that high chair for my 23 month old daughter and it’s wonderful. You’ll really enjoy it.

Since having my daughter I’ve also become a car seat safety nut 🙂 I will caution you on using a used seat – and here is a checklist to go through if you do decide to still use it…. http://www.cpsafety.com/articles/usedseat.aspx

Blessings to you and your family!

Hi Joy! Thanks for the link. It just so happened that the car seat belonged to the store owner and I feel very confident about it. But it was nice to run through that check list too! 🙂
    Amy

  5. Ohhh, congratulations on the find and on getting your square done. You impress me with all that you get done. It’s like you squeeze the most out of every minute!

  6. Nice haul, and I still think you could glue on some pink flowers or something to the cover. 😉

As for last minute? You still have a week! Starting it at midnight the Friday before? *that* is last minute. 😉
