Today J2 turns 13.
That means I have 2 teenagers.
That means we are closer and closer to children leaving the nest.
This thought makes me hit my knees.
Today I’m a bit blue about his birthday.
Tomorrow we are having a bunch of his buddies over to Grandma & Grandpa’s house to play in the pool, hit a silly pinata, eat his requested lemonade cake & hot dogs and enjoy each other! I’m sure it will be lots of fun and I’ll take lots of photos to share with you. But today I’m going to hug on my boy and probably cry a tear or two.

I love seeing my kids get more independent and mature each year, but it is bittersweet. Tomorrow’s party sounds like loads of fun. Oh, I want the lemonade cake recipe, please 🙂
