Today we didn’t go to church but instead we planned to steal a few minutes to do a few honey-do jobs.  But while Eric was out in the garage this morning, he heard some big creaking noises and a snap.  There was a big split in one of our two trees.  A few frantic calls to family members and we had a local treeman heading our way.

Here is the view from before…

3 Thoughts on “The Tree Job

  1. Well, great pictures – ended up being a banner yard clean up day. Once the shock of having to spend all that money made you numb, it was quite interesting to watch.
We even got the kitchen cabinets reattached to the ceiling and wall properly (they were starting to pull away) and Spare Oom A/C vent blocked off for the winter – which was the original Honey Do’s scheduled for today.
Now, to redo the carpet transition bar in the living room, fix the outside door trims, put trim on Spare Oom doorway, fix stucco cracks before the rain, recaulk the tub, and paint the kitchen wall and window sill in the dining room before Thanksgiving. Hope we still have a couple of good weather weekends left….
This spring we’ll pull up the carpet in the dining room and paint the bathroom I suppose – and Lord willing, put up some fence in the side yard (not sure how to pay for that yet but have all the paint and supplies for everything else).

  2. Wow, a blessing you were home and able to handle it so quickly.

  3. That would be a little scary… And kind of depressing. I am a big fan of trees. *lol* … Glad you were able to get it taken care of.
